| potty training & eating poo& nibbles Hello to all this is my first time at the site. Well I just got a baby puppy name zoe' she is a doll. Well we have been doing very well with the potty training except like some of the entries I have read she nibbles on her poo. She pees on the pad and she will go out the door as well but she poos maybe once on the pad then the rest it is around it and I see her nibble on it at times. The vet said they were gonna get me something to sprinkle on her food and it is suppose to stop. She is only 10 weeks though and I am trying not to give her to much soft stuff cause her poo gets to soft. How can I stop her from doing that. Another subject she smells food a mile away I feel so sorry for her but I know the hard food right now i think is good, she jumps and nipples on alot of things but she nibbles and bites my hand how do I stop her from doing that she usually plays and loves to wrestle and she isn't aware on the grip she has just her from teeth are sharp but the sides doesn't hurt I just don't want her going around bitting up everything. She loves our socks she plays and nibbles on them as well. zoe' needs assistance. |

First off Welcome to YT! You will find a world of helpful answers here to all of your new puppy questions. For some reason the poop eating question has turned into a life of its own recently. Read over this link and it pretty much talks about everything you can imagine about Poop eaters. My suggestion would be to look at what type of food you are feeding and if it is high in grains. Change food to something that is a high quality food and add a little pumpkin or pineapple to her diet. Deter which is probaly what your vet is talking about does not seem to be very helpful to many people otherwise they would not be posting here about their poop eating pup! As of the rough playing and biting. She is a puppy and that is how they play. If you do not want her to bite you then you need to tell her NO and give a toy. Those little puppy teeth are very sharp and they hurt. She is still learning what is apporopriate play so you need to help her along with this. Make sure you have plenty of toys for her to chew and play with. Do not allow her to bite your feet this will only encourage her behavior. Go read the Poop Eaters thread. Not only will you get a good laugh but it will be very helpful. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...ting-poop.html
