| Biting/Chewing??? I have a 13 week old little boy and he is driving me freaking crazy with his biting while playing. I tell him NO over and over but it hasn't set in yet. I will pull my hand/finger away when he does this and give him a break then give him a chew toy. Is this the right thing to do? Could he be "teething" or is 13 weeks to early for that? How much of this will subside with age and how much of this is an indication of an aggressive personality? I have had it up to HERE with the biting!!! I might have a dog available for sale if he doesn't get better about the biting/chewing. |

| Mine Too!!! I'm not going to be any help, but wanted to let you know I'm going through the same thing w/a 16 week old female...I'm thoroughly pleased w/her in every area, but the biting/nipping, when she is playing...I'm totally looking for the correct way to stop her...She knows the meaning of no, but just seems to keep pushing the envelope...I'm going to keep checking back here for some "veteran" answers.......Help!!!! |

You DON'T tell him no over and over again It's NO! once and ONLY once and then you walk away as far as giving him a chew toy after he's been biting you might as well say Good Boy! too Because you're rewarding his bad behavior Biting and rough play is very common in puppies ... they don't know their boundaries and there level in the family pecking order yet older dogs will give a nip and a loud bark when a puppy goes too far what you need to do is say NO! or NO Bite! and walk away no toys no further discussion and you'll see he'll get the point very quickly You might want to also check your role in this too if you are playing rough with him he's going to bite harder
