Angry 1.5yr old yorkie still pees EVERYWHERE,nothing works. HELP!!

Our 1.5yr old yorkie(Roxy) will not stop peeing on the floor, clothes, couch, pretty much anything she can go on. we have tried puppy pads, litter boxes, taking her outside and nothing works. when we take her outside she will walk around for sometimes 15 minutes, then go pee a tiny bit. we want her trained on the pee pads because we have a condo. we just recently got another yorkie so she had a friend to play with while we were at work through out the week. Charlie(our new 5 month old puppie) learned to go pee on his pee pad within a few days. He has a few accidents but its not several times daily. why cant our other dog learn from him? why wont she understand thats where potty is. Roxy gets in trouble EVERY single time she pees(sometimes she will squat down and even look at us while doing it) and charlie gets rewarded with treats when he does a good potty. could it be that she has a really weak bladder? or maybe it has something to do with getting her from PETLAND. She's a very smart dog when it comes to everything else. Roxy is able to go off her leash at the dog parks, she listens VERY well. She doesn't give us any signs that she has to pee or anything. Please Help,we dont know what to do anymore and its getting out of control. Roxy is destorying our entire house now.

Youve got to confine her with the pad untill she gets the idea thats where she needs to go. You cant give her free roam that just establishes bad habits

Sometimes they just dont and shes already established bad habits. I have 2 and my male was good at house training but my 2nd the girl just wouldnt get it. She was using the bathroom in the same place though so I put a pad there and she started using it

we have tried putting down even TWO pee pads, she is confined in the same space for around 7-9hrs a day with charlie. she completely understands how to go outside but she wont even give us a sign. not even a warning, but when we are not home, she pees maybe once and it will be near the pads. when we get home, she loses all control and pees .

Maybe confine her to a crate during the day. If she has free roam of a bedroom, she can still use the bathroom where she chooses. When you are home don't let her loose - slip on a harness and leash and have her follow you where you go in the house. Take her outside or to the potty pad frequently and maybe back every 10 - 15 mins or so until she uses it especially after she eats/drinks or wakes up from a nap and after playing too. I'm still new to potty training because I have only had Fancy for a month today but we have yet to have an accident in the house! I use potty pads and take her outdoors to potty when the weather is nice.

Mainly don't give her alot of room to roam until she gets the idea that there only a couple of place she can go to the bathroom - potty pad or outside.
Good luck!

A crate is another good potty training aid. Most dogs won't potty in their crates, so leave her in there and when you take her out, immediately take her to the potty pad, say "go potty," and give her a treat when she does. You may have to leave her in the crate a lot at first, but this WILL work. If she's in there for an hour or two, she'll build up to the point of having to go, and she'll go when you take her out.

Also, just because she is in a room with a potty pad all day does not mean she will go there. She needs positive reinforcement. You need to be there and watching her at all times for this to really work. It's time consuming and frustrating at times, but she will eventually get the hang of it.

Good luck!!

During potty training - we kept Bailey in a 4x4 exercise pen while at work. Its bigger than a crate and small enough that she didn't want to soil it.

When she was a puppy, she peed all over and chewed her pee pads. No big deal, I just cleaned up the area every night when I got home. Eventually (at 8 mos), she began to hold it all day.

Bottom line - I had no control when I was gone - so I kept her space small. I had to rely on nature. But when I was home, we kept her confined to one room so we could watch and correct her. She was trained in 2 mos and reliable in 4.

Good luck!

I was thinking about just putting her in dog diapers, but im not sure that will fix the problem.
She has actually peed on my bed while sitting beside me and looking at me!
and if shes put in a crate she just crys and i feel horrible

I really did not want to crate train, but that's where I'm at with Thor. I don't believe in leaving dogs in there for long periods of time, but it really is true, they learn to like their crates.

All dogs should be crate trained, even if you don't use it for house training. If you want to travel with your dog, or in my case, board them on extremely short notice, you will be eternally greatful your dog is crate trained.

Thor actually came to me with pretty good crate associations. If your dog doesn't like the crate, try feeding her in there, and leaving the door open. Gradually start shutting the door, maybe giving her a nice bone while she's in there. Dogs really do like to have a "room of their own", so most will take to the crate without a lot of trouble.

If the dog doesn't learn by your efforts then definitely leave it in the crate until it does. Let it out just to go to the bathroom until it gets the hang of it. I wouldn't feel horrible about it. You've put the work in and its time for her to reciprocate. You can't let the dog destroy everything you have by peeing on it!
