| House Training - "Holding it" I have a Yorkie that is about 6 months old. He seemed to be house trained for nearly a month until recently. He is becoming "of age" for a male and teething. He lets us know that that he needs to go out most time by ringing bells on the door or barking. If we are in the room, he usually wont go but it appears that he can't hold it very long. If we don't get there in seconds, he goes on the floor. Is this common? I've heard that they have a tough time holding it until nearly 6 months. Has anyone heard about this and does anyone have any suggestions. It should be noted that we work at home and he won't stay in his cage without barking. That doesn't go over well when I am on a conference call. Please help me and my little guy. He is a great, loving dog but this is his only draw back. |

| I would totally agree that the "holding it" is much more difficult at a young age. When my 2.5 yo dogs need to go, I have about a 5 min. window where they'll hold it. But never as pups... I had to hussle to let them out when they rang the potty bell. Teresa |
