Lilly peeing inside her crate at night

Our first yorkie, Tico, we crate trained him, and he might have pee'd once inside it. It taught him to hold it at night, so he can now sleep on our bed, or go in the crate and not pee when needed.

Lilly, we got at 2 months. I thought I would do the same training method, except she started peeing in the crate. So I gave up, and put her in an xpen at night with a pee pad. This worked excellent as she likes to use the pad.

She is now 4 months old, so I thought her bladder might be bigger, so decided to crate train her again. First night was good, but guess what? second night she pissed again in her crate.

I want to just put her in the crate every night, hoping she will stop this, because she can't like the smell in there right? I will have to wash blankets every morning when she does this and bath her because she gets the pee on her fur.

Should I put her in the crate every night, and hope she stops peeing, or should i try some different approach.??
