![]() Hello and I need help. We adopted Cody (six yr old) two weeks ago. He had been given back to the breeder due to the fact the owner had lost his job and couldn't keep him. He is just the sweetest thing. He is a little skittish with my husband and myself but is coming around. The first week he was wonderful as far as going out to potty. However, Saturday he had 5 accidents in the house. This is in addition to taking him out regularly. We are scheduled to have him fixed in a couple of weeks because he has an enlarged prostate. Do you think his accidents are due to this or just the adjustment. I don't won't to confuse him and just can't wait til he bonds with us. Sorry for the length but any advice would be appreciated.

![]() If he's six years old and never been neutered, he is probably marking his new territory. Neutering at his age may or may not stop it since it is an established habit it this point. Many YT members swear by belly bands for males who mark.

![]() Yes frequent urination can be caused by an enlarged prostate. I hope it all clears up once he is neutered.
