| House-Breaking Why is it that I can take Roxy out side 5 or 6 times in the morning, and she goes everytime, I take her out every 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. all day, she has no accidents in the house, UNTIL............around 7 pm it dosn't matter how many times I taker her out she still pee's in the house. I have started taking her out more often from 7 pm on but it still happens. I know it works in the morning, why dosn't it work at night? I am a crate training believer, and she is 8 mts old. I have found that taking her out 4 or 6 times at night between 7 and 9 will make her sleep until around 4am...am I missing something? Last edited by kelly jo; 12-19-2008 at 01:19 AM. |

| hmmm, interesting. I wonder, could she not be finishing each time you take her out at night so then she still feels the need to potty when you are back inside? Could it be that something is worrying her more at night (in the dark) so that she's more focused on that instead of 'doing her business'? Does she act differently when she's outside during the day as opposed to at night? I'll be curious to see what others have to say.

| It's really no different. I have big flood lights that light up the back yard. I walk with her just like any other time. We talk and play a little in the snow. I try to make sure she's done, but I take her out more figuring she will sleep longer, and she goes every time.....maybe she's just trying to tell me she's a "lil pisher" ? I also try to keep her awake, she's tired by then but I get up at 4am and want to go to bed by 9 pm. Should maybe she nap or something? |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Are you praising her every time she goes outside? If not, bring treats and really make a big deal about it.

Try a firm No when you catch her, & take her outside to the pee spot.
