| How long? How long did it take to potty train your yorkie 100%? What did you do to succeed?

| Our Yorkie Tico, is about a year old, and maybe 90% potty trained. We still have to put him in a pen when we leave. The moral of the story, is that it is a long haul with this breed. I find that this site has lots of good advice. If your having problems with training, think outside the box. What works for one dog, may not work on the other, and vica versa. A big help for us, was when we got Tico neutered. He was marking his territoy, and just kinda of mixed up all together. He went from less than 50% potty trained to about 90% after we neutered him, so that might be a thought. One more thing, I used to yell at Tico for pissing in the house, but this was the worst thing to ever do with this small breed. He became scared to pee around me. As soon as I was out of the house or room for more than a few minutes, then he would piss. The bad part was that he wouldn't pee in front of me, so there was no way to correct him. This made it very difficult. |

| I was so worried about potty training my little Bella after helping my best friend tain her little poodle Latte. It took the two of us watching her around the clock for about a solid 2 months before she was even 80% trained. But I'm glad to report that I was SUPER BLESSED when I got my little Bella at 8 weeks old she was completely potty trained!!! I was ecstatic on her first day at home when she climbed out of my lap and trotted over to her little puppy pad and made a little pee pee! From that point she was a breeze. At 6.5 months I still praiser her everytime I see her go potty. I only hope I can have the same experience when I get my little Barley! lol Jen
