| ![]() Sorry no one responded at first to your thread. As for potty training, you may want to either try crate training or getting an expen. I have done both and prefer the expen because my hours are so eradict. I have food/water, crate and pad in the expen. If I ran late, I didn't worry about pottying or eating. Does your little one have run of the house? This may be part of the problem-it may just be confusing her. Dogs do not know automatically to go outdoors or on a pad so you need to show them. We watched and noted the times that Hot Rod would tend to poop so we made sure to watch for any signs and put him on the pad. You should wait until she actually goes and use a phrase for it. This way she will know that phrase when you use it to go. Always praise after. I always gave and still give a treat too. As for biting, it's been suggested to say stern no, squirt bottle and coins in can. I've done the stern "no bites" and the coins. This seems to have settled it. I also used bitter apple on furniture. I suppose you could spray it on clothes as well. I've read that it can be sprayed on hands. It takes time and patience and diligence. It will happen. Hot Rod is 14 1/2 mos and he's very much potty trained on pads and outside but has had the occassional accident with poo. I know that I can leave the pad for at least 3 pees, any more than that he will not use the pad. Maggie is 6 mos and will go on the very edge sometimes and miss or go right next to the pad. But on the bright side, she will run to the other room and use the pad. It will happen, patience. Good luck. ![]()

| ![]() Lily was trained to go outside first and she wouldn't use pads at all. She is 8 months old now and she goes on the washable pads real good!! She will still go outside if she has to go and she is on a leash but if she is just in the house she will run to her pads now!! Maybe try to just keep them down and see if she will start using them? I put 4 down at first in different places and she seemed to pick her favorite place to go and now I only use 1 at a time!! |

| ![]() Hi, I'm new at this too. Got my Bella a week ago and she is 10 weeks old now. I'm still struggling with the accidents outside the wee wee pads. You have to be patient. A friend of mind recommended to apply vinegar after cleaning the spots were Bella had her accidents. It does work. She never goes twice on the same spot. I'm using treats and positive reinforcement. Good luck. |
