| Potty accidents at other ppl's houses Hello, My 10 month old yorkie is trained to go on the pee-pad, or if I take him outside he will pee/poo. He pretty much is 98% accident free at my home, but whenever we visit people's houses he always has accidents there, even if there is a pee pad available. I try to walk him before going to the new house, but I usually see him sneaking a pee or 2 somewhere inappropriate. Any tips? Thanks!

| This is what I do, take a pee pad along, hold her the whole time and occasionally take her for a walk, which she never pees until we get home. I know there are better alternatives.

| Are there any dogs at the other houses? He could be trying to mark his territory as well. It happens to us EVERYtime at petsmart, even if they go before we leave or outside at Petsmart, 9/10 times they will have to do SOMETHING once we get inside I've also heard that everytime a dog is in a new envirnoment, like a new house, they have to get trained all over again for that place.

| Some thoughts are 1. Belly band him when he is in some else's home. 2. Keep him on a leash so he can not sneak off. 3. As I do not believe dogs mark territory but do use pee to talk to others it more likely he is stressed and is peeing do to it smells of him and comforts him. 4. As Dogs do not generalize he does not know that he is not to pee in someone else's house so he just needs time and teaching from the start just like at home. 5. First thing to go under stress is the last thing and the hardest thing to remember. In all those points I go with he not generalizing his skills and is under stress. JL
