| Potty Training Bells Hi everyone! Mother of Samson, an almost 7-month-old male yorkie, here. We are still in the midst of potty training. I know he's grasping the whole "I need to go potty/poop outdoors" thing, but we're still having trouble with him telling us when he needs to go. Once in a while he'll go to the door and stare at it, as if willing it to open, but he rarely makes a sound, so we never know. Just this week, he was over by the door and my fiance asked "Do you need to go outside?" and he made a small growl/bark noise. So we think he's slowly learning. We'd like to try the bells that you hang from the door to hopefully aide in his training. I know of the Tinkle bells, but does anyone know where I might be able to find something similar? Thanks in advance!! |

♥My Lil' Monkey Girl♥ Donating Member | What i did is i purchase just a bell from the petstore slid it through some fishing line and hung it on my door at the level of my yorkie to walk up to and hit it with her nose or paw. She learned it very quick she hit the bell the first time out of curiosity and i said good girl lets go potty and we went outside until she went potty and then came in and i gave her a treat i did this every time she hit the bell and went potty and slowly took the treats out of the equation she is going to be two years on Nov. 5th and she has used the bell since she was 8 or 9 weeks old! Good luck! Sounds like you are well on your way!

| Sammy was afraid of the hanging bells so when we got her we switched to the Tell Bell. I have them on my website. We started with hanging bells and Loki did fine with those so it's totally up to the dog. The thing is, Loki is usually the one afraid of everything! Anyway here is the link: Barkaholics - Tell Bell They come with 2 bells and a DVD.
