| Outside before all of her shots Hello, My Nala is 11 weeks old and still doesn't have all of her shots. I am trying to potty train inside, but I have a pretty enclosed apartment, not too many windows and needless to say, it's getting kind of smelly ((ppp-uuu)). I want to train her outside but am afraid to because she doesn't have all of her shots. Should I wait for all of her shots and then start training her outdoors or does anyone know if it would be safe to start now? |

| When Mine were little My Vet said I could take them out in my own yard only. However awhile back there was someone on here that took her pup out in her yard only and it ended up getting parvo. So I wouldnt advise taking you pup out knowing what I do now

| Hey there... Well, I was told that taking them out before all of their shots was fine. As long as you limit it to a small area of yard/grass outside that you know other dogs are not frequenting. Another thing is... I think 11 wks might be too young to try and outside train... but, Im not the expert. But, it seems they have to "use it" pretty consistantly at that age... So I would think that unless your home full time to be able to let her out, you might want to keep her pad trained for now. Not to mention, going potty outside comes fairly natural for dogs. I never offically "trained" Meka to go outside (we do ppads), but if we are outside on a walk or something, she'll do her business just fine. To avoid smells witht he ppads... I usually change Meka's twice a day... In the am and in the pm... I also, clean the area underneath every time and that really helps to keep away odor... Hope this helps
