| Wow congratulations! Lexie sounds so super smart! she'll be happy because she now knows what the routine is at class, she's met the dogs once before. AND biggest of all you're challenging her to think. Dogs love that. It's just as tiring to exercise their brains as to go for a walk!

| Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | .........well, I guess every week can't be good ![]() Backing up for a minute, practiced loose leash walking twice this past week. Once with Lucky & Lexie, once alone. When we walked with Lucky (leash held by my grand-daughter-in front of Lexie & I); not fun. Lexie pulled & pulled, corrections not being of any help. During the last 1/3 of the walk, I had my grand-daughter walk behind us with Lucky and Lexie did much, much better. Also, when Lexie & I went for a walk alone, she also did much better. So, until she has got it down pat, guess she'll be going for private walks. Okay, so class today....not so good . The loose leash walking around the store was okay. But in the class ring before starting class, we let Lexie and the Springer Spaniel say "hi" (nose to nose). After about 5 seconds or so, Lexie got snippy with him. Spoke with the instructor, she advised to make the greeting time very short...2-3 seconds, then walk away. When she tried the same thing with Lexie & the golden retriever, same thing happened. She spoke of using the squirt bottle, I told her been there, tried that (it doesn't phase Lexie much); she suggested instead of water to give a quick short squirt of the bitter apple spray; being careful not to get her eyes.. So when Lexie snipped at the golden retriever, we gave her a squirt......... woooooo, she didn't like that at all. Maybe that will work; it's worth a try. Anyway, we also worked on the lay "down" command (she needs work on that one) and the leave it/take it commands. We've got our work cut out for us this weekend with lots of new things to practice.
