| I have a 5 mo. old yorkie who has really taken right to the leash. I suppose it has made a big difference that we have an 8 yr Westie who has shown her how it's done I was actually going to post a question on how to train such a small dog to heal. I have put a harness on her (one with wool padding on the front shoulder straps) which has put my heart to rest as I walk her. I was so affraid of a collar hurting her as she pulls to run with me. Perhaps someone could also suggest a good method of training a yorkie as I walk a westie! But back to your post...I would put a leash on her in the house to get her used to it. Bend down a few feet in front of her and call her. That will get her to come forward to you with the leash. Then take this same method outdoors as you walk. If she stops and sits...get in front of her and call her. It shouldn't take long for her to get the idea. good luck! |
