| ![]() Oh my this worries me..I do not have my yorkie yet and I am a clean freak..A breeder is talking me into a male pup cause she believes they are sweeter and easier to train( her personal opinion) I have owned males in the past and had some marking problems. This is why I wanted a female this time around..But it sounds like this is a breed behavioral thing..I love animals but I love having a clean smelling home too..yikes should I reconsider? love the proverb 12:10... |

| ![]() Dogs do have a dog sent like human have a human sent. I have never had a male but I believe I would get what I wanted. |

Donating YT Addict | ![]() Yorkies can be housebroken but it won't be in a few weeks. It takes time..sometimes a lot of time and even more patience for either sex. If you can't handle the thought of accidents then I would re-think any puppy..but especially a yorkie. I have to say even with the backsliding I would never have any other breed of dog. My Ozzy is amazing in so many ways and no dog or breed is perfect...and of course there is always Nature's Miracle ![]()

| ![]() Archie did the same thing! He did very well with the pad until he decided when he was 6 months old that he was old enough to mark up the whole house. Very frusterating because we know he can hold it with no problem but he just occasionally wants to drizzle everywhere. We watch him very very closely! But yea .... we don't know what happened either. We kind of gave up on training him with the pad. He needs to go out 3+ times a day and still be watched VERY CLOSELY! We are thinking of investing in a belly band soon.

| ![]() ckuz13 for me it was learning this breed. I had to learn to handle them differently than I did my schnauzers. Which by the way learnt to potty before they were able to jump up on a couch. I had to be more sweeter, not too demanding...not to gruff in my voice is what I am trying to say. Lots of rewarding. I wish you the best!! |

| ![]() Thank you..I think having three males in my family can be challenging for male dogs..sometimes the scent of human male hormone can send a message to male dogs to mark as if to say this belongs to me..so we have alot of testosterone going on around here already..its interesting. Funny thing happened last year, My husband and I went to look at some yorkie pups and the Dad of the pups came up to my husband and peed on his shoe. And all the female dogs in the home all sat near my husband on the couch as if they were guarding him..and they licked him the entire time we were there. So I often wonder what vibe is my husband giving off to these lil guys and gals. |

| ![]() my 5 month old goes outside some days perfect, and sits down and i can tell she needs to go outside, then the next day she goes outside comes in and goes potty inside. She always tells me at night when i'm sleeping when she needs to go out, but not usually during the day. |
