| temper / separation anxiety My little girl is 5 months old and i'm having a biting issue.... i'll be walking down the hallway, or when i get home, or even just sitting on the floor.... and she'll always want to bite and i mean bite not just play nibble. O and then... at night time when i'm ready to go to bed... and she's wide awake... she seriously gets pissed, she has a TEMPER. i can see the evil on her face... so i end up staying up late having to try and get her to go to sleep. I would put her in the kennel at nights like i do when i'm at school and work, but that's so much time in the kennel and she has major separation anxiety. when i pick up my coat, purse, or keys she knows i'm getting ready to leave and she shakes like no other, it's so sad!! any advice on separation anxiety or her temper? i would reaaaaaaaalllllly appreciate it!! Thanks, Jewell and JoJo Rae!

| Welcome to YT, and welcome to owning a yorkie puppy! I suggest you find something that she LOVES to chew on (besides your toes and fingers) and make sure she has one at all times. Also, make sure it's healthy for her and doesn't upset her belly. The best cure for the wound up puppy is an exhausted puppy. Wear her little butt out and maybe you can get some rest!

| She is not being evil. It sounds like she has too much pent up energy in her. Being in the kennel too much can make a dog go crazy because they are bored. If she is alone a lot during the day she might be already sleeping the whole day and she won't want to sleep at night.

| When you are gone during the day do you leave the TV or radio on?

| Your five month has lots and lots of energy. So lots and lots of exercise and play is in order. We have a regular schedule for our Remi. This is difficult at times but we get up early and go out for a walk right after breakfast. If it is bad weather, we go for a ride in the car, etc. |

| honestly, i've heard of special cds for dogs that's supposed to be really good to relax and soothe them while you're gone but until i can remember the website i seen it on i'll definetly have the radio going... hopefully this will help with going to the bathroom in her kennel. They say they don't like to go in their area.. but at 5 months she still will do both in there. i even come home everyday from work at 12 to let her out!

| Omg That sounds just like my 8 month old! I thought that I was the only person w/this problem. ANd the evil in her eyes, I totally see that. The only thing that seems to work is taking him to the dog park. It wears him out but sometimes that is hard to do because the park is closed at night. He only does it to me not my boyfriend. Strange..If you find anything to work please let me know and I will do the same. Good luck... Amanda |

| My puppy also bites quite a bit so I can't help with that one...BUT she is great about going to bed. When it is bedtime, she knows it and is usually already asleep when I go to bed. I don't crate her during the day, but I do keep her closed off in a room. When I get home, I try to play with her A LOT! She loves playing fetch so I just play as long as possible, plus she loves playing with my cat so that tires her out also! She literally sleeps from the time I go to bed, till about 7am - when I get a licks all over my face - meaning she has to go to the bathroom. Also, when I leave for the day, I leave the TV on for her...that might help |

| I think we can all have one of these types.. ever think of getting another dog.. so the anxiety level is not going to get to her.. she would never feel alone.. to me two is not more work then one..another baby playing with her would make her more tired also.. mine play with each other and chase each other and tire themselves out most of the time.. If not that, then you need to try doing your studying earlier and keeping her up later.. she is so young and has so much more energy..Hee hee |

| Something else you can do when you leave is give her something with your scent on it! They find it comforting......I used to leave a dirty shirt with my Adelaide when I went to work, she would curl right up on it!
