![]() I was wondering if potty training a second dog is easier or harder than the first. Does having one already trained help to give the other one the right idea? I am thinking of getting a second pup and wonder what it will be like for potty issues?

![]() My reply is probably not very helpful - it is neither easier nor more difficult to train a 2nd pup! What I mean by that is, yes, the eldest will give the pup the idea what to do but I think you have more time to teach a first. Gypsy Rose learnt VERY quickly (she did have an elderly Lhasa Apso brother but he was very laid back and I could dedicate a lot of time to Gypsy). Gizzie Chavi, now 6 months was also quite quick but not like Gypsy and I think, apart from having less time to spend training it also depends on the individual dog. It's a difficult period but so rewarding when they finally get the idea!!

![]() I am having a hard time with the new baby. I do feel part of the problem is the weather. I put her out with the other dogs and she comes in the house and goes. I have to stand out with her other wise she just stands there and doesn't move. Burrrr!!! I don't like the snow. We have decided to go back to the basics of crate training and piddle pads ![]()

![]() I have had a lot of success with Dean in the past week, but he only uses the wee pad 1/2 the time. He uses bathroom strictly inside b/c of all the other outside dogs 'round here, but my other guys go out. My non-yorkie male has peed inside twice since we got Luca Dean about six days ago, and he'd gone almost a month without an accident. (He's about a year old, getting neutered next week!) So, two males, if un-neutered, could cause wee-wee-woes from what I've seen so far. Luca Dean's only 18 weeks and he lifted his leg on the side of my tub yesterday! (Fortunately he was on the wee-wee pad and he doesn't have much "projection" yet ..... LOL!) Recently caught on camera, the rare event in Luca Dean's kingdom: Last edited by lucynfred; 01-08-2005 at 06:20 PM. Reason: fiance makes me correct misspellings
