| Confused lil dog Our yorkie, Tyke, had a real problem with pooping inside. He would go outside around 6 - 8 times a day to pee (on all our trees lol) but would wait till he got inside and poop like 5 minutes after, he would poop about once a day in any room, lucky it wasn't soft and we have wood floors. So i took one of his messes and placed it outside near a place he once pooped a couple times. He now waits till he goes outside to poop, although he doesn't seem to have a regular schedule as he gets fed at random times throughout the day. The only thing now is, chewing on my pantleg. He only does it to the jeans that I have went to work in. But he will sit there for literally hours and gnaw on the end of my pant leg. To be honest, it's somewhat relaxing and he seems to enjoy it. But, I have noticed that sometimes he will whine while doing it like he is frustrated with something (almost like he can't reach something under a cabinet. Any reasons why he does this? He is a smart dog for sure, he knows how to sit, lay, roll over, and stay. He also has a toybox that he gets his toys from, BUT, will put his toys back in the box before getting another one. His favorite toy so far....an empty plastic 2 litre with a couple pennies in it. |

| Welcome to YT!! Well, what a clever way to teach him to poo outside! Good for both of you. I would strongly suggest you get Tyke on a regular feeding schedule. How old is he? Most people feed either once or twice a day. If he's still really young, you may need to feed more often. Feeding on a schedule, you will learn when he needs to do his business. Mine run out and wee in the am, then rush into eat, then immediately after they are done eating they usually poo. I know this and I don't have to second guess what their habits are. As for the chewing on the jeans, it sounds like you are giving him mixed messages. Let him know it's not okay, if you have to spray Bitter Apple on your jeans (make sure it won't discolor) and then make sure he has enough chewy toys or bully sticks. Is he teething? That may be why he's whining. He may need some hardy chews

| Welcome to you and Tyke. Sounds like you don't much mind if Tyke doesn't treat your jeans very nicely. But it's a bad habit to let him get into. You might have visitors to your house, and Tyke might not know to be selective about his pants chewing. He sure is smart. Can he come over and teach Coby how to put the toys away. My hubby says he didn't trip over toys as much when we had two pre-schoolers in the house!!

| Tyke just turned 1 year old on the 8th. He only chews on my pants, don't know why, could he be sexually frustrated? I'm a guy and he is a boy, so shouldn't he be showing more affection to my fiance? Only thing I can think of is that I play with him the most and show him most of the affection (ie: playing, taking him outside, sharing food) Sometimes he gets into a real licky mood then wants to hump someone, but we tell him no and he goes and lays down with a sad face. |

| Welcome to YT, and its so glad to see another guy here. Anyways, Humping is bad and chewing clothing is bad. If he does either try using a coke can with pennies or rocks in it and shake it really loudly or clap really loudly and say NO really loud at him...soon he will get the message and a small clap will be required. Im to the point if they do something bad i just snap my fingers lightly and the kids scatter from whatever bad thing they were doing. If after one loud noise and a no he continues then you need to pin him and dominate him for a few seconds to show that you are the alpha male and not him. my mother in law just lets the dogs do whatever right in front of her and it irritates me to no end be it biting papers or cloths or body parts so just make sure everyone in your house punishes the same. |
