toby likes to sleep across my neck too!!!! (except it is not so cute because he is now four lbs and it kind of makes it hard to breath) |
<<[QUOTE=Junebug]Oh my god, how do you get your cat and yorkie to tolerate each other?? That's such a rare site! >> When Obie and I go to visit my mom and her big old cat, the four of us share the same big bed. Obie normally tries to chase cats but my mother's big old Elmo won't run, just looks at Obie as if to say, "Silly little dog, you can run around all you want to, just leave me out of it." The two animals have distinct territories on the bed. Elmo sleeps over on the other side of my mom and hisses if Obie gets too close. |
That's so funny that yorkies like to be close to our heads when we sleep. I usually have to take Bentley outside to potty once during the night. When I bring him back in and put him on the bed, he marches up to the top and lays on my husband's head. It's the funniest thing :) |
Cecilia likes to sleep near my head but not one it. I have short hair. My mother though has very think big hair and when we have gone to visit her Cecilia likes to sleep on her hair. I guess it makes a comfy bed. Cecilia has slept with me since I got her. I have never worried about rolling on top of her and I actually move alot at night. If I move and she is there it wakes both of us up and one of us moves. (Usually it's me). She is a great jumper and will jump up and down at night to use the potty. |
Obie also gets up to use the pad during the night. In fact I usually have to get up once or twice myself, and I will say, "Gotta go pee, Obie," and he will jump right off and go do his business while I go do mine. It's very cute. |
Penny sleeps near my head, in the curve of my back, or by my knees. |
my yorkie is only 4 months old as well but from the time i brought him home at 8 weeks old he has slept on my pillow he will have it no other way neither i was scared about rolling over and the traning issue but we have made it easy for him to get down with 2 pillows shaped for him to get up and down easily and if he needs to go to the bathroom he will get down and try to make it to the bathroom there have been accidents but i give him credit for trying then he will come back in bed an lay down and go to sleep we tried the kennel the first part of the night when i brought him hime he just whined the whole time and i felt to bad to leave him in there so now he sleeps in bed with mommy and daddy as close to our heads as possible good luck though |
My 3 month old Bo sleeps in his kennel at night and naps there during the day. He has his "lambie" and a blanket in there and I lay a small blanket over the top to cover the holes on the sides. This seems to make it more cozy, warm, and secure for him. He can still see out the front. He doesn't whine in his kennel unless he needs something (a drink of water or to go out, etc.). He spends short periods in there 3 or 4 times a day since I don't have a puppy confinement pen or convenient place to put him unattended. We have play time several times a day but I never leave him unattended. When I'm gone during the day for errands I put him in my bathroom with his kennel, blanket, toys and water. He has always done really well with the kennel and hasn't soiled there since the first couple of weeks. I wish potty training was going as smoothly... |
Legacy and Impreza sleep on our bed. At first I was worried about them going potty on our bed or us rolling over them, but it's worked out very well. They always sleep next to each other and most of the time it's by our feet. Legacy has been sleeping on my pillow above my head lately and Impreza has been sleeping by Mike and I's legs. |
Mine sleeps next to my bed in his own bed he has a bench and he is prefectly fine in it.. soon as i go to bed he follows me he runs into his bench and wait till he get his cookie.. :) and then sleeps.. my other 2 dogs. scottish terriers are not in a bench, but mokm the oldest is 11 she sleeps in her own bed sometimes in the bedroom, but also walks to the kitch in her other bed or living room.. and my other dog he is Zorro her son is sleepin between my legs on the bed :) lol Quote:

i have also a blanket around his bench... only the front is open so he can see. but its much more relaxer for him... when he is whining or at least dont want to sleep,.. (most of the time he sleeps right away cause he knows is mommys bedtime ) but i only have to say "no" or,. "snickers sleep now,. im dont with it,. mommy needs to sleep"and then he lay down look at me like,. ok mommy .. thats sooooo sweet. |

Louie, 4mos, still sleeps in his pen because we are still potty training and too small to use the doggy step. By the time we put him too bed he's so pooped out he snoozes with no complaints. Sometimes if we're REALLY exhausted we let him sleep in the bed with us. :D |
Cordell sleeps right in the bed with us. Last night, he slept most of the night on my shoulder, against the pillow. Cole, our chihuahua, sleeps under the blankets, usually by my feet or between my legs, and Chimi, our other chihuahua, sleeps on top of the blankets and becomes solid rock when he sleeps.....50 pounds of it! LOL! Since I work most night, cuddling with my babies is a welcome treat to this ol bod....:heart to My precious hubby is snuggled in next to me most of the time! :) |
All of mine have beds by day and kennels at night. The yorkies are used to their kennels and actually Oliver will go in there instead of his bed during the day on his own. I think they like there own little place that noone will bother them in! If i lay on the couch at night they will both lay with me there too!:) |
we have six in bed with us. Gidget sleeps in her bed in a pen. Im too afraid she will fall off and break something. |
Archie sleeps in the bed sometimes, but when we wake up he's usually on the floor. He's a brute and prefers the hard floor sometimes :D Milo sleeps in his crate, he's too small to jump on and off. So we don't let him on the bed without supervision. |
Daisy and Sam sleep in bed with us. Sam, the boxer has to sleep on top of our legs. Daisy also has to be touching me. Gosh, some mornings, I feel like I got run over by a train! |
Bella used to sleep in her crate but she's just started sleeping with us about a week ago. I let her sleep with us a couple times in the past and she was just too squirmy and I didn't get any sleep. The other night she jumped on the bad and just looked so darn comfy I didn't want to move her, well she's been doing great, stays off our faces and mostly down by our feet so I guess she's there to stay:D I NEVER in a million years would have thought my hubby would go for this but she's obviousely got him wrapped around her little paw;) |
They Love my Bed!!! :dogzzz:All 3:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork of my babies sleep in bed with my hubby & I, we had to upgrade to a King size bed!!!, I change the sheets on a daily basis, literally... They love that... during the day they have their areas all over the house where they like to be... But at bedtime, there is no way to get them out... They are literally up against me all night long, any tiny movement that I make, they cuddle closer... Its funny, they're so cuddled to me that they push me closer to the edge of my bed, sometimes during the night I have to basically adjust myself cause I feel I'm gonna fall... I don't mind, I love their warmth, and love to have them close to me all the time!!!:hearts33: |
night night Our Scout sleeps in his comfy bed in a foldable cage. It's big, so I don't worry about him being cramped, and in the morning it folds up and I slip it behind the couch out of sight. |
Pebbles has some doggie beds but she only uses them during the day. At night she sleeps with me. She has gathered for herself a nice sleeping spot on an unused (supersoft, I might add) down feather pillow that I keep next to me. I must say she has very fine taste! The pillow is much softer than any doggie bed ive come across  |
After reading al 4 pages I know feel guilty My little one is only 3 months and sleeps in his crate at night and sometime throught out the day. But I do have a hubby that put up with some other little dogs sleeping with us and he said no more when I got the yorkie So I couldnt say anything.. maybe in time When he is older. |
Coco sleeps right in the middle of me and my hubby. We always joke that we never knew a 5lb yorkie could take up so much room in our bed! In the morning after my hubby gets up Coco goes and has breakfast and then jumps right back in bed and cuddles up in my legs. She makes it soo hard to get up in the morning! |
My yorkie (Bailey) sleeps in his dog bed on the floor or will snuggle in with the golden lab and sleep in her bed with her. He can hold himself all nite now till we let him out in the morning. When we got him he only cried for 2 nites and then went to sleep all night, very lucky because with my golden lad she kept us up for a month eeek!! |
Simba sleeps in his doggie bed which is placed right next to my bed! :) |
My girl (11 weeks) sleeps 9 hours straight in her crate with no waking up! Such a good girl. She also has had NO crate accidents! Blessed...I know. |
My yorkie sleeps in bed with me and my husband...its a crowded bed with her and a cat but its just fine. We never roll over on her b/c she sleeps at the foot of the bed. I'm pretty sure if I put her in her dog bed or the crate she would be fine with that too...when she is tired she almost doesn't care WHERE she is sleeping. |
My little Derby Dog slept in the crate until he was about 5 months old and now he most definitely is in the bed with my & my cat. We haven't had any nighttime potty accidents unless he is on the floor, otherwise he holds it til the morning. :animal-sm:cat4: |
Zeus sleeps in bed with us...usually right between my legs so I can't move all night...but I love it. |
sammy sleeps right next to me in our bed. he sleeps like a little human, the covers up to his neck right between us. he is very good and sleeps through the night. oh, and linda44 who is luckier than you to have 6 in your bed. i really am jealous. you are so lucky |
