| (Book) The Loved Dog by T. Geller I know some of you were reading this book. How do you like it? I think I'm going to buy it today. I really liked the chapter I read online. I really like her philosophy. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...16938149&itm=1

| I love this book.... The book is all about trainng in a kind and loveing way. No hitting or punishing.... Focus on the good behavior. This book says to stop barking you spray the dog in the back of the head with a water bottle, and as soon as they stop barking you say good and give a treat to teach good behavior. I want to try this but I need to get a spray bottle. it's worth a try... This worked!!!! I have tried some of the other things... Chewy was growling and barking and biting the pants of my daughters friend!!! I was shocked and upset but luckily this guy was very calm and cool about it cause he has a yorkie also. The book says to give the person they are growling at a treat to win your dog over. i thought it sounded like you are rewarding bad behavior but I asked if he minded giving a treat and he was game. The next thing I know chewy is his best friend hanging on the couch with him, sleeping on his lap!!!! I was shocked but relived that it worked. Chewy is just starting to decide that he doesn't like some people and it freaks me out when he isn't nice!!!! But the book seems to work so far!

| Also... It talks about times when you really need your dog to know not t do something. She says to make your self as big as you can...(Wolves do this also) And make a scary face and show teeth and growl... My dog loves to nip feet when he wants to play and it hurts. The book also says that their teeth should never touch us...It send the message that it's ok to nip and bite if we let them. So it is important I get this under control.... so i did this thing where I made my self big and scarey and growled and...He got scared and ran under the bed! He stopped bitting my feet!!! I felt awful but I can't have him biting people!!!! I could be sued.
