| Puppy urinates outside then comes inside to urinate Hello all! I love this forum... its filled with such great infomation and people willing to help. Anyways, we have a 3 month old boy yorkie and he's been doing great so far... he would run to the door when he needed to go outside. EXCEPT for the past couple of days. It seems he likes to pee outside and then come into the house and pee again. Last night, he pee'd about every hour... these times without warning like he typically does... This morning, I woke up, took him outside and he pee'd and poo'd. RIGHT after, he came in the house and pee'd again, TWICE! WHAT do i do??? Thanks in advance. |

| Our furry friends learn to hold it. Males especially will save some so they have enough to mark different places. I used to let Mogli out only when accompanied by me, on a leash. This to me was important for potty training (though stubborn as hell he was) ... you know how much they can hold and watching their output --- you will know if he has more or not in his little system. You basically don't let him (or you) come back in until a sufficient amount has been placed on mailboxes and fire hydrants around the neighborhood! |

| He may be marking in the house, when he is old enough you could get him neutered and that will probably stop. I would call the vet now and ask what they think and have him checked for a UTI.

| Seems like a lot of pee... Maybe you should have him checked for UTI or I dont have a boy, but it could be possible that he's marking?

My Little Man! Donating Member | I have a little boy now he is 11 months old. When he was little like 3 months old I would take him every one and a half hour outside after he would do his deed I would reward him everytime we get back in the house. He got the idea right away. Maxi would associate go outside to pee with getting a treat. I have read that puppies up to 6 months cant really hold it for a long time because the bladder learns to hold around 6 months. When Maxi peed in the house when he was a little baby I would be firm and say What did you do and bad boy he knew he did something bad and after that you should take him outside make him go and then reward ur pup for being good to go outside. Should help good luck! |

| My puppy school teacher said that little ones don't empty all the way on the first go. You need to make them hang outside until they go two or three times.

| I'm glad this was posted because I'm having this same trouble... Cody is 10 months old. He hasn't been neutered yet because financially I havent been able to . I will take him out to use the bathroom and he pees alot outside and 15 mins inside and he pees ... i believe its more that he is marking than peeing. and it seems like every hour im having to take him out to pee... i've been thinking that seems too much... i thought once they hit a certain age they could hold it longer??? Should i get some bellybands too??? if anyone can help me. please send me a pm. as I don't always check every thread daily thank you Amy |

| I kinda think he had UTI... well his dr appt isn't till next Friday anyway so I had some anti-biotics left from before... I figure it would only take about 2 doses and he should get better if it IS UTI. I will watch to see what happens. thanks all for caring so much! I'll keep you all updated... |
