| best potty training trick!!!! try it youll like it!!!!! i have two yorkies now. One is a boy one and a half year old... and one new baby girl 10 weeks old. both are doing really great as far as potty training goes. i thought I would share. I have an out side play yard... (an ex pen i guess you could say) I have bricks down for easy cleaning and to keep my baby clean. I started using this as the potty area when Chewy, my boy was about three and a half months. he took to it almost right away and by the end of a week he was fairly trained. i took him out every 30 min. Chewy now has run of the house and we have no problem. he was fixed at 6 months and this may have helped with the marking....he never marks.., Well we got sadie my 10 week old and I didn't want to take her out side because it's so cold and she is so tiny. So in our basement I put an old play pen I got free from a free shop and lined it with a pee pad and news paper. I took a paper towle with some of Chewy's pee and poo and put it in there. as soon as we got home with her we put her in and presto she went!!! She knows this is potty... She goes right away when we put her in if she has to go! She has had very few accidents since we got her on Sat. To day she had one accident so far. She started whinning at night when she has to go so we are pleased as can be!!! I hope this helps some of you. there has to be something to the whole enclosed potty training area. My friend with a yorkie told me this method and it worked very well for her also.

| Sounds like a good plan, but how do they get in there by themselves when they finally make the connection? Is there an opening in one side for them to get in? I do something similar only I use a corner of their ex-pens.

| My question is how too do you transition them to going elsewhere / designated area when they are older and not being put in to go potty..
