Both my guys have OLD - obsessive licking disorder. I mean, they NEVER stop - we have to stop them. I don't know what the deal is with all the licking....

Roo will lick my feet if he's on the floor and if he's sitting with me he'll lick my arms. At times it can be a bit much. Love it just the same.

My Phyllis looks at you and licks the air. I have no idea why she does this now . She will do it also when we go to bed ,lay on my hubbys belly and lick the air. Weird

My Schnauzer would lick a lot too, ummm but not as much like Furgie...maybe it could just be a dog thing?

I was wondering if it was because our skin has a funny taste to it... Hmmmm.... I've been told by a few people that our skin has a salty taste and that maybe why dogs like licking our skin. Hmmm.. Idk though.

LOL!!! Marty has that for sure!! Madeline.... not quite as much, but she prefers to go straight for the mouth.

I would agree with the skin tasting salty to them, but mine licks the wall, the floor, the clothes....not the air yet LOL!

Has anyone been successful in curbing this habit? My dog licks a lot , too. and i agree, it is probably a nervous habit. But I am trying to get Therapy Dog certification and excessive licking is not desirable.
