Lil Miss Izzie uses the washable ones in her playpen when she is in it during the day. I use one a day, and put it in the washer to soak....then run them through a prewash cycly with borax and then wash them with bleach....tumble them dry on low heat....she also has the disposable ones that she used in the living room and those are much easier...just toss them...so she is trained to used both, although sometimes we still have accidents in the living room  |
www.personallypaws.com I just switched my 4 to washable pee pads about 3 weeks ago - I absolutely love it! I will never go back to newspaper or disposable pee pads! No more shreaded newspaper every day!!! www.personallypaws.com    :thumbup: |

Then I was in a car accident and broke my ankle, knee, etc and couldn't take her outside. I got an xpen and put it around her pads. I'd put her in her "potty pen" and praise her like crazy and give her a treat when she'd go. It took her about three days to figure out that this was an easy way to get treats! :D Now I can't imagine having a dog who wasn't pee pad trained! |
I've been using these for a while now and love them also. I have had no trouble with mine using them. I fold them in forths dirty side in, then I put them in a big black garbage bag that is inside a big black garbage can with lid :D I wash them once a week. |
How big are they? Are they the same as the paper blue pads? |
Pooch Pads come in all different sizes. I get the large which are 30" x 32". They have smaller ones and larger ones. I find they absorb so much better than the disposables, too. No more wet feet and wet footprints near the pad! |

I've used washable pee pads since Day 1 for Bitsy, and she was completely trained in about 3 weeks. I started with Pooch Pads and they're good, then I got Lil Bit's pee pads, and they're awesome! She made the exact size I needed, it's way prettier and a LOT more absorbent. I keep Bitsy's pee pad on a boot tray beside the toilet so when she poops, I can pick it up and flush it in the toilet. Her poop doesn't stain, so after I flush the poop, you can't even tell she even pooped on the pad. Bitsy pees on her pad about 3x a day and she pees outside 1x a day. I put a new pad down everyday and the used pads are folded dirty side in. I then place the used pads in a one of those lidded and tight garbage cans that's lined with a garbage bag. Used pads gets washed once a week. I wash them with detergent in the washing machine (I haven't needed to use bleach cuz I don't smell anything, but Bitsy probably can, and that just make sure she knows that that's where she's suppose to go). After I take out the washed pads, I run the machine empty through a rinse cycle with just bleach. I don't put the pads in the dryer since I find that they dry pretty quickly on their own. I usually just hang one of the washed pads over the curtain rod for the bathtub and it's dry in a few hours. Good luck! |
