Question about an intact male... I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I couldn't quite figure out how to acurately search this one out.
I talked to a lady who has a male yorkie for sale. I still need alot more information, but some of the information I have already is that he is 1 year old, and still intact. She also says that he is not potty trained because it's hard to train them if they aren't neutered.
What I want to know is does it make any difference when they are neutered? In other words, since he's already a year old, will waiting that long cause any real lasting behavior problems? And a similar question... at a year old are they still young enough to be reasonable trainable if they have some bad habbits that need to be worked on?
My other question: She says he has papers, but that she has an agreement with the pup's breeder not to pass them on. She also says the reason she is selling him is because she had planned to breed him, but that he is now too big for her liking. Excuse me if this is a silly question, I know nothing about registration and breeding rules and contracts, but is this a common thing or does that sound a little fishy? I'm looking for a pet and I couldn't care less about papers, but I do care if she is attempting to scam me or otherwise sweep something under the rug. |
