My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Sewing Machine Wanted :) I'm looking for a new hobby and thought I'd try sewing. Haven't sewn since school. So I'm looking for a starter machine to play with. Anyone? |

| I always recommend the old Singer treddle machines for beginners. You have total control with them. You will pay an antique price sometimes. If you're interested in one, just watch the auctions in your area or catch one on ebay. Otherwise, there are lots of nice, new machines available today. You probably wouldn't want one that does lots of "fancy" stitches, but who knows?

| I have a brand new one in its box never opened..... I bought it 6 months ago.... I thought I was going to make Pixie and paris matching dresses! HA! I can't sew! And I really am not patient enough to learn.... I was waiting to list it in the human garage sale.... Its a decent one too... not super fance but I did not go totally cheep, I'm stupid like that... I can't play chess but I spent 200 on a really nice set! lol Well it looks nice! Whatever! So.... I'll have to go take a look at it and see what kind it is... I'm not even sure what I was going to ask for it.. I had not even gotton that far... Its kinda heavy for shipping I think.. it weighs like 15 pounds... Shipping would be pricy I think???? Let me ask hubby... or someone speak up if you know!

| I have a machine that I also bought at a garage sale for $25 and have never used it. I think it is a Singer as well. I'm pretty sure but I'd have to dig it out to be sure. The lady told me it worked fine but what would I know since I never used it, never even plugged it in. I would be glad to just get my $25 back plus shipping. It also is very heavy. Where are you? I'd have to figure out the shipping if you are interested. I would only charge you what it cost me - the $25 plus actual shipping. It doesn't have a case or cabinet but you can buy the cases pretty cheap at Walmart I hear. |

| Have you looked at Wal-mart? They have brand new machines for under right around $100.00. That way you have all the manuals. The GREAT thing about Walmart is that you can buy something, try it for about 25 days and if you don't like it, simply return the item for a full refund. Be sure to keep the box AND your receipt. Good luck! |

| Probably best idea! I have to say that is what I would do. I'm afraid the shipping is going to kill you on a sewing machine. |

| Hi Breny I sew curtains and blinds etc. To get started I would go to your local library and get a basic sewing book ,also buy a basic machine but make sure it has a light because you will really need it!Best of luck.
