| ![]() I have to buy some toys for Bailey before he comes home and was wondering if there were any I should avoid for a little puppy?.. I only have a small Walmart, one pet store and a dollar store to choose toys from, so very limited. Can human baby toys be used for a puppy?

| ![]() Some of my favorite toys for yorkies are made by PetStages. They are small enough and strong enough that the yorkies can chew on them, carry them around and not tear them up. There are a lot in the series and can be found at PetSmart or Petco. Also, it would be good if he could have some balls and toys to play chase with when playing with you. A kong is also a very good item. As Bailey gets a little older you might invest in Hide a Squirrel, Hide a Bee...some of those toys that challenge your baby. My Lucy has just turned 2 but she loves any toy that talks English to her. She tries to duplicate the sound the toy is making. So funny!!!

| ![]() Yes, baby toys can be used for pets. Just check any toy and make sure it is sewn well and that the eyes will not be chewed off. It is best if the eyes are on the animal done in thread and not attached to it. The eyes are the first thing they chew off. My first yorkie, Alyssa, learned very quickly that if she could tear the tag off...she could get to the stuffing inside the plush toy. I had to start cutting the tags off about 1/8 of an inch from the animal.
