| My neighbor is a hunter and has tons of different size antlers. After a while, they will turn white with age. He gave me a couple very small antlers for my Yorkies. My Harley loved them and chewed on it awhile, then left it. My Abby was scared of it and wouldn't touch the antler with a 10' pole. Asked my vet about them and she said they are too hard and 'could' break off the teeth. So into the trash the antlers went. Asked her about the bully sticks as well. Problem with those is the possiblity of salmonella bacteria in the product as well as in all rawhide chews these days. If you look on alot of the rawhide packaging and even some treats, they are made in China. My Vets recommendation is stick to milk bones. They have vitamins and are digestable. Great for helping keep the teeth clean and won't break a tooth off. I should know this to be true because when I lost my 15 yr. old Yorkie (Ginger), "God rest her soul".... she chewed on milk bones all her life. Never did she have bad breath or teeth problems. I believe she had one dental done in her entire 15 yrs. I believe the milk bones helped in keeping the tartar and plaque off. Just thought I'd pass on what my Vet said. |

| I heard about deer antlers for dogs and thought it was strange. but found that they are good in calcium and some other stuff. So I got Baxter one and he loves it. Sooooo between that and his Hymalian dog chew, that is all he gets.
