Deer antlers. My dog LOVES them! Who else has dogs that love deer antlers? I bought it a few weeks ago, and my little guy can't get enough of them. My roommate's dog keeps stealing it and hiding it from Alfie haha. He needs his own!:p |
All three of mine love the deer antlers. I just found out about them from a new natural pet store that opened close by. They are a bet pricey at the store. I have to look them up on line. Glad your little guy loves them too. And the other dog. lol |
Thanks! I looked at the lady at the store like she was crazy when she said dogs love them. It looked like the most random thing to give a dog lol. I'm glad yours likes them as well! |
Man, I gotta try that! My dad finds them on his property all the time and he hunts too. (I know...I'm not a fan of the hunting, but at least it's not just for the sport of it for him.) Maybe if I bat my baby blues at him, I can get him to part with some. Are they okay for their teeth since they're so hard? I guess dogs have been chewing on bones since the beginning of time, but I read the other day somewhere on one of these forums that the hard plastic Nylabones were hard on their teeth....would it be the same for antlers?? |

I've never heard of them before. Just a side note, but Antlerz has the worst slogan ever. |
WE have a lot of Deer antlers around. mine have never even paid any attention to them, I wonder if the ones you buy have had some thing done with them. |
I've never heard of these! Now is the start of a new mission...find out more about antlers!!! Thanks for the heads up. :) |
I bought one today and she's not really chewing it. At first she just liked it, then she played with it a little. Now she isn't playing with it again. I hope she'll start liking it soon because I spent $10 on it:eek: |
I never heard of this. I know that they love bully sticks. |
No kidding about the bully sticks...I hadn't heard of them until YT, but Bella is obesessed with hers. I got her the braided kind. I think it's going to last for MONTHS!!! I checked out the Antlerz website you linked. They look really white in the picture. Is that what they look like in RL? The natural antlers my dad has are more of a tan-ish color, sometimes with light brown on them. If they are white, I bet they do something to them like you suggested. Just wondering what they look like in person.... |
Wow who knew? Sounds interesting...that might be a fun new chew bone idea for a GE! :) |
i recently tried bully sticks...... they smell like a west texas feed lot....and something made emma sick the night I gave it to her....not to mention that no one would let her sit with them if she had it.....lol NASTY Quote:

They are pretty white. Alfie plays with it everyday and it's still holding up! I think it's going to last as long as those bully sticks! |
I saw this post and was doing some research. I read on another site (not even sure what site I was on) that Antlerz brand were processed and that was why they are so white. This site also did not recommend them due to the fact that they tend to crumble - but I'm assuming that was probably when using them with larger dogs. I did a search for deer antler chews and found differant sites that offered antlers that were basically straight out of the woods for as little as $4.00 for small. They come with instructions about how to "prepair" them for your dog (washing, making sure there are no sharp spots etc.) I figured I would try one of these to see if they are even anything that Harley would like before I paid twice that for the other kind.
