| Help find poppys owners HELP FIND POPPYS OWNERS Hello, my name is Poppy and I'm desperate to be reunited with my owner. I was found wandering the streets at the end of July. Some kind person found me in the Boulevard Carnot, Patte d'Oie in Toulouse and handed me in to the SPA. I was wearing a red collar and was looking healthy and cared for. I am microchipped, so the people at the SPA tried to find out who owned me. It was an English microchip put in by a vet in Bristol in 2002. Unfortunately he hadn't seen me since then and so knew no more about me. My microchip information seems to reveal that my owners surname was Barton and that they lived in the Stapleton area of Bristol. However, the vet where I was microchipped is in Eastville, Bristol, so we can't be certain of this. No-one knows how I've ended up in France, and I'm not able to help them obviously! If you recognise me, or know anyone in Toulouse called Barton who might be my owner, please, please can you contact the email below. I'm desperate for my owner and me to be reunited and to go back to my home again. Email: Linda@email2me.net Latest Updates: Poppy has been offered a temporary foster home until her owners can be found, or a new home found for her. She will be leaving the SPA in Toulouse on Monday for her foster home. We've also had very kind offers of new homes for her here in France. So if her owners cannot be found, it looks like the future is looking brighter for Poppy. Since the original posting on Sunday on Anglo-info we have so much help and publicity. Poppy has had airtime on Radio Bristol and Radio 4. She has had her story published in the Bristol Evening Post and even has her picture in the Daily Mail ! She even managed Sky News! | Taken from the Poppy website...it says... Well who could have missed the story this week of Poppy the Patterdale Terrier! Thankfully there is a happy ending to the story, as her owner has been found. However, due to the intense interest in Poppy, and concerns about her care we felt it would be nice to tell everyone exactly what happened. Mr Barton, Poppy's owner, had to return to Bristol because his father was very ill. Being a responsible dog owner he arranged for a French family in Toulouse to care for Poppy. He knew them only through relatives, but was assured that Poppy would be fine with them. As he knew he would have to be away for long periods of time, this was the most settling option for Poppy. Unfortunately his father's illness took a turn for the worse and so his stay had to be extended. He did contact the French family, who assured him that Poppy was fine and happy! Last week, sadly Mr. Barton's father died and he stayed in Bristol for his funeral, before returning back to France on Friday. He was totally oblivious to Poppy's plight until a friend of his daughters contacted his daughter and told her about the story they had read in The Sun newspaper. She phoned her dad, and this was the first he had heard of it. We still don't know why the French family caring for Poppy didn't report her missing, as Mr. Barton has yet to speak to them. However, he is going down to the SPA in Toulouse to collect Poppy this week. So we will be posting a reunited photo on here for you as soon as we have it. |
