Hi Kezza You are so right, they are ALL Different. It is a question of what is right for each one, and if you are happy staying with it ....

| Our Bearded Collie is the same...she is 7 now and we can only feed her tinned Pedigree Chum and BONIOS as everything else came up in bile or Diarrhorea....we even tried her on the well documented wholesome, colourfree, additive free dry foods, like BURNS, ...but we kept having to change everytime we were faced with a kitchen floor full of bowel fluid or bile...not nice !!! It is INFLAMMITORY BOWEL DISEASE our show Beardie has. ![]() ![]() ![]() As for my four Yorkies, we change every now and then, but the Eukanuba small bite seems the best, mixed with tinned or fresh meats. Also TESCO's JUST NATURE (dry)seems to be very good as well. I think it is a common problem with animals and humans...just far too much rubbish and chemicals put into food these days. I really feel for you...been there, done that....a nightmare !!! Best wishes, Debra x x x Last edited by HighlandYorkies; 08-08-2008 at 04:19 PM. |

| Hi there, I have two yorkies and one in particular I have to be very careful with what I feed him.He is very sensitive to preservatives etc and can not even have a chew as I find within half an hour he is being sick. I feed mine on Burns and it is fab! No nasties in it at all. When I got both my yorkies they were being fed on Royal Canin and I know people swear by it but I just didn't like what was in the food. My two have lovely coats and look a picture of health on it. Hope this helps Sharon, Charley & Bertie xxx |

I agree totally with Sharon, I won't feed my two anything buy BURNS. It is simply the best there is (No I don't work for them or get any commission for saying that at all) After years of problems with Max (My 1st Yorkie) I only wish someone had told me about it then, He had colitis. Finding the right food to not set off the symptoms was a nightmare. Teddy as some of you will already know, has been very ill and hundreds of pounds of test and meds, didn't help. In the end I worked out it had to be diet related. Sometimes changing them too often can cause the symptoms, so we think it is the new food and it may not be. So I took time to give each one a real try 7-10 days (2 weeks would of been better) I found he still had symptoms of problems with Burns until he had been eating it for about 2 weeks but I knew it was helping as the sickness got less and less, and the gaps wider and wider, until now he is never sick, unless he picks up a bug..... I would recommend BURNS to anyone. Their helpline is superb too....

| Poor Teddy glad that you have got his diet sorted out. There are so many foods out there and it is so confusing as to which one is best. I would never change mine from Burns now. They both love it and every bowl is an empty one! I agree with you Diana their helpline is really good and they will often send you some free samples if you ask them. Most pet shops can order it in for you.I buy the mini bites. They also sell treats and have just started to sell tinned meat. I do mix about a teaspoon of Butchers choice meat in with their evening meal which again has no artificial flavourings, colourings and preservatives. You can get this in most supermarkets.I buy a box of four packs. It just adds a bit of variety to the meal I feel. | Humphrey will eat pretty much anything, but the vet recommended Science Plan and that is all we feed him. He has a penchant for fruits as well... he LOVES mango and apples. I have not tried carrots on him yet. |

| I used this site to find the perfect food for Mika Dry dog food alphabetical index - kibble starting by A We were thinking about Burns/Hills/Royal Canin til another YTer pointed us to this now we have ordered some Wafcol Hypoallergenic Salmon and Potato it seemed to come out best for no grains, fewer ingredients and got the best independent review. Wafcol - What your pet has been waiting for... (Its the first one when you open the window) Its approx. £10/11 for a 3kg bag depending where you get it from.

| We and our yorkie moved from the states, and Willow does great on Royal Canin. Folks here recommended it, and we've had no problems.

| We had a problem with Max, but I wrote to "Burns", who were really helpful and sent me a variety of their dry foods. Our vet orders his Burns and we collect it from the surgery. It's the only food which hasn't gone to waste. |
