| How do you groom your Yorkie for Summer. He seems hot now that it's getting warmer, and his feet smell. No laughing. He's a pet not for showing. I groom everyday and brush his teeth 3 times a week. His grooming person wants to shave his back but leave the skirt longer. What do you think. Also sometimes he gets poo stuck in the hair in the butt area which I then need to bath him which he loves. Any thoughts out there. Toties Mom Sheila |

| Sorry , I can't help as my pups are just 6 months old . My DD has her Yorkie clipped down in the summer with a bit of a fridge on the face ...which is cute . I think the groomer told her it was a westie clip on the face . My one pup will be clipped IF it gets hot here ( doubtful as winter doesn't want to leave ! ) as he has very thick hair as where my other pup has very thin , stringy fur ! Hard to believe they are from the same litter ! |

| Thanks for the reply I had Totie groomed to a slimmer self and had a westie face. I have to say that he is as cute as a button and feels better without all that hair. He just had all his innoculations this past week and has been a little under the weather ,but now he's protected from all the nasties. Sheila and Totie |

| argh don't shave them One of Yorkies beauties are their hair. Don't shave them. I've seen them shaved and it's just horrible. I do a puppy cut (your groomer should know this style) on my yorkie and it keeps her from picking up all the dirt, easy to brush and take care of and not too heavy for her in the summer. |

That's the cut Buddy sports. I love it. His new groomer did it and I plan on keeping him like that for some time to come. I get lot's of comments on it. Very professinal looking and he looks so handsome in it. It's called a modified schauzer cut. Short on the top and a long skirt. Long face hair also but short around the eyes. Buddy's hair parts down the middle about the nose. I can't post pic on this computer. I think it is the best of both worlds. Long and short and cooler in the heat.

i did his head in a schnauzer cut once, but i didn't really care for it. i like a short "lion" head with a smooth body. (but not shaved!!) i did a "baggy pants" once, but the back of his legs got tangled and was a b* to comb out.
