| I would be very careful with your baby around any body of water. We had a member recently lose her baby to an accident in a bathroom toilet. You can buy a doggie life vest and never leave your little one unattended around water. It would be the same as leaving a toddler unsupervised around water.

| please be very careful. Yes, your yorkie can drown in your pond. I would never to leave him/her unsupervised around any bodies of water. We tested Maggie out (who loves the water) in the hot tub and just watched how she was getting more and more tired. She almost just stopped paddling she was tired. We always have their life jackets on them when we put them in the water.

| I have a small pond and Libby fell in it when she was about 4 months old. Thankfully, I grabbed her out quickly and she was okay. I've now got a 3rd yorkie and she is smaller than my other two. After a friend's yorkie drowned in the toilet, I put a fence around my pond. It is just a wire fence and it is hardly noticeable from a distance. I just feel safer having it there.

| thank goodness I click on this website Hello....Wow, thank you for replying....I sure would not have worried about my pond as I was told that the little one would love to swim in the pond and just climb up the rocks around the edge and walk out. I am disappointed that she won't be able to go in the back yard as she just loves being out there. I won't be able to watch her every minute so I think its better to not let her in the back yard. I am really angry with the breeder for dismissing this as a concern....I guess she just wanted my money! Thanks again! |

| We have a small pond and Ruby has fallen in, thank goodness we were right there. She also likes to drink the water and ended up with a couple of bacterial infections. So, we have put up plastic fencing, approx 6 inches high around the pond, she's no longer interested.

| If we are around any water with depth I make sure her life jacket is on. She has fallen in already as well, so thank goodness for the life jacket we just picked her up by the handle once we reached her. She is so fast and we were running to catch her as we saw what was going to happen. They are to fast to keep up to and it doesn't take long to drown once panick sets in.
