Lancaster Bark at the Park - Best SoCA Dog event! Hello, everyone! Mark your calendars... The City of Lancaster's annual Bark at the Park is right around the corner, Saturday, October 6th! Last year, we had a number of YTers attend, we'd like to see even more of you this year! (And, plans are being made for a yorkie meetup, we'll let you know the details soon.) There are endless activities at this event, including a live Auction, Raffles, Contests, Microchipping, Splash Dogs, etc. Be sure to check out our website, www.lancasterbarkatthepark.org , especially the Fashion Parade and Man's Best Friends contests. There is no breed that looks better in clothing than the yorkies, so I'd really like to see one win this year. There is no fee to get into this event, but you will want to bring some cash for all the great vendors and activities. Proceeds from the raffles and auction go to the Lancaster Animal Shelter. Please plan to spend the day. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at KathyBATP@aol.com . Kathy

Bark at the Park Hi, all... Yes, we will have a meetup the same day. My sister and I run the raffle booth, so let's meet there at 2:00. Of course, you may stop and say hello anytime during the day. Last year, Latuya (Monica) came with gus... all 3 pounds of him, and a few others. The website is a little hard to navigate, but there is a Pet Parade put on by the Girl Scouts at 11 a.m., with prizes for the cutest Girl Scout Uniform, Peppiest Pooch, and Prettiest Pooch. Then, at 12, there are the man's best friend contests, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for each category... best trick, look-a-like, best singing dog, best dressed, and best human barker. Then, at 1, there will be a live auction, with winner's choice of a gorgeous pink or blue stroller, weekend getaways to Miracle Springs Resort Spa in Palm Springs or a Bed & Breakfast in Mendocino, a girl's bike, a year's worth of dog food (maybe a decade's worth for a yorkie!), etc. There are numerous raffles as well, with dog beds, carriers, baskets, etc. This event is held at Lancaster City Park. You can find directions on the website, www.lancaterbarkatthepark.org, or you can email me - KathyBATP@aol.com . Lancaster is located about an hour north of Los Angeles off the 14. For those of you down south, it's well worth the drive. There's something there for everyone. Hope to see a lot of you YTers there with your furry friends! Kathy

Bark at the Park Please share the information about this event with anybody that has a dog or just loves dogs! There are numerous activities for bigger dogs. And yes, feel free to invite any other proud yorkie owners to meet up. The more the merrier. My sister and I always say, "Yorkies - you can never have too many".

This sounds like a lot of fun. That was supposed to be the first weekend I wasn't going to have something to do since back in August (yea...I think there was ONE weekend in August when I didn't have any plans), but now I may have to rethink my veggie weekend. Who needs time at home anyway ?! | |

Would you recommend bringing Sukoshi's stroller to this or is there rough terrain (hills and such) to where walking without a stroller would be easier? I just like to be prepared at all day events b/c she gets tired of walking so easily, and then I have to carry her around the rest of the day !!!
