It was nice talking with you the other day, Monica. I look forward to seeing you and Gus again, and any other YTers that can make it. And, speaking of strollers, there will be a stroller auctioned off, winner's choice of either pink or blue. There's also a gorgeous dog carrier from Lucys Luxuries for those with exquisite taste... it's made of lambskin, and is soooo soft. It retails for $699, but it will probably go for about half that.. Just thought I'd mention these two things, since they're both perfect for the yorkies. Of course, there are tons of raffle items too - beds, dog jewelry, dog armoire, baskets, etc. etc.. (I know, because I personally solicited all these items, and am storing them at my house.) I don't mean to sound like an advertisement, but I hope you can see my excitement. This event is so much fun!

Bad news (well...for me anyway). I don't think I'm going to be able to go to Bark at the Park afterall. I'm really bummed, for one, because I pride myself on not saying I'll be somewhere and then flaking out at the last minute, and for two, just because I was really looking forward to going. My husband and I had a couple things come up that we have to get done this weekend, one of which includes making a trip down to San Diego unexpectantly ...2 hours in the WRONG direction! I'm not positive yet, but if I don't meet y'all at the raffle booth at 2:00, then that's why. I'm so sorry! How many vendors will I be missing out on ?

Guess who got a new stroller this weekend? We went to the Bark in the Park which was soooo much fun! Mike (my former Marine BF) bid on the strollers.. The blue one first.. He didn't get that one. So he also bid on the pink one. It was so cute when he walked up to retrieve the pink stroller he paid $200 for wearing his Marine Corps hat. lol. Of course they had to mention to the crowd that it was a Marine who won the pink stroller. lol I couldn't believe he bid $200 but he just said, hey, it's for a good cause (the money went to the shelter) Hope to see more YTers there next year.

Sonya (Sunnie), It was so nice meeting you and your "girls". They looked so cute in the pink stroller and their darling little dresses. (Any chance you'll change your mind on making me one?) My daughter is married to a marine, so I appreciated that they mentioned Mike being a marine, and I had to chuckle later seeing him pushing the girls around in style. What a guy!I'm not sure if I just have radar for yorkies, but it seemed like there were more yorkies than any other breed at the Bark at the Park. I think we need to have another yorkie meetup with the others in the high desert, maybe sometime in the spring. It would be nice to have more time to mingle and get to know others better. Well, it's not too soon to put next year's Bark at the Park on your calendars.... it's always the first Saturday in October. See you there (if not sooner).

It was great meeting you too! I think I could make you one. I will have to check and see if I can get more of that fabric. But I think I can. What size is your's? I kind of just made my own pattern, but I am able to adjust it iuf you send me the measurements you need. Measure base of neck to base of tail, around neck, around chest (biggest part) and measure from the top of one front leg, across the shoulders, to the top of the other leg. I think it would be a great idea to have a high desert meetup. Maybe we can even get some of the so cal group to come on out too! I would be happy to help in any way that I can. Since I retired from my govt job, I am home all day. Of course I still make bears, but I don't have to make them 8 hours a day every day. lol How did the raffle go? I guess I didn't win any of them or I wouyld have heard by now. lol. It really was a lot of fun. Both Mike and I enjoyed it a lot! Sonya PS did you get a chance to see the pics I posted on another thread? Do a search for Bark in the Park and you will find them. I can't believe I didn't take too many pictures. And I agree! There were SO many yorkies there!

I hope I can attend the next one if it falls during one of our home trips from Alaska. I just love doggie get-togethers. I think Alaska Yorkie and a couple others up there are planning on one next spring since winters are not the time to be driving too far. | |

My husband and I cruised there for our 1-year anniversary in July. What we saw was so wonderful! We cruised the Inside Passage with stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Sitka, and we also cruised the Lynn Canal and saw College Fjord and Glacier Bay. It was breathtaking, although I still owe everyone here pictures (especially Mike - Alaska Yorkie ), but I'm a slacker and never got anything uploaded . I'm still going to though...some day . I can't spreak for you, but I LOVED it, although I can only imagine how cold it gets in the winter, since it was pretty darn chilly in July!!!!
