If you are looking for an AKC dog...they are NOT allowed to send a puppy home until they are 12 wks of age. Anything before is too young! Check the AKC website for breeders in your area! Good luck... I'm on my 4th Yorkie!

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | No good breeder will sell from a website, they might have a website, but they won't sell from one. A good breeder will insist on meeting you and you should meet them and decide if the way they are raising their dogs is humane. The breeders who sell directly to the public, need no license, and some of the worse puppy mills in the world have adorable websites. There are even some puppy mill breeders who are members of yorkietalk! If you care about dogs, please visit the breeder's home.

| So True!!!!!!!!! Just do your home work and visit the breeders house! See the Mom Yorkie and Dad if possible as this is what YOUR new baby will more than likely look like as an adult! This is a Lifetime commitment (could be 16+ yrs) don't rush into buying a new family member! |

| Is there really such a thing as a tea cup yorkie? |
| | |
| | #24 |
| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | No, it's just a nickname; there is no official classification for a teacup, and those breeders who use the word often as a marketing ploy. It’s okay for a pet owner to use the word, but there’s really no definition for it. The Yorkshire Terrier is considered a toy breed with the official standard "Not to exceed 7 pounds." Yorkies whose adult weight is less than 4 pounds often need special care. By the way, in answer to your previous question I always recommend the YTCA breeder referral list. The link isn't working properly, but try it later, lots you can learn on the site though. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Lol, almost everyone here would agree on that one, and we hardly ever all agree on anything!

Steve is a co worker friend of Scott's (my fiance) was relocating to Sydney, AU for work and didn't want to put her through the 6 month quarantine process. The family asked Scott if we would like to adopt Lillybelle their 3 year old "Yorkie"! After careful consideration we said YES!!! (like I could ever say no) We changed her name to Bella and she came to live with us in July 2011. She is very sweet, very loving and has a BIG personality. She's becoming quite the "jet-setter" as we try to take her everywhere with us. We CANNOT imagine our lives without her. Bella was born on 6/22/08 She is an amazing little dog. She loves everyone she meets. She has such a beautiful coat but we keep her in a puppy cut or a westie cut. The only health problem she has is a trachea issue but nothing too bad. She seems to have "good knees" too.
