| beware of breeder in denham springs louisinana!! http://www.yorkiespoodlesandmore.com/ i recently got my yorkie jack a brother and it has turned into a disaster.....i purchased a standard poodle puppy 4 months ago when he was 8 weeks old. (needless to say not from a good "breeder") since the day i got him he has had chronic diariah, he has been diagnosed and treated for hookworms, roundworms, whipworms (treated multiple times with albon) coccidia, giardiah (treated with panacur and amoxicillan) campylobacter (treated with metrinitizole) we have tried prescription diet food, he has visited with over 5 different vets (most recently with the louisiana state university veterinary school) this jerk of a "breeder" is selling yorkie puppies on a web site http://www.yorkiespoodlesandmore.com/ he needs to be shut down! after getting my puppy i did a little research and found that other people are having the same problems with their yorkies! he says his yorkie moms are not over 2 pounds!! i cant imagine a tiny 2lb yorkie going through the same thing!! he is selling his puppies upwards of $2,000 he is banned from the akc and also has an unsatisfactory report with the better business bureau! i purchased my yorkie puppy from a wonderful breeder in denham springs, named carla arnold, he was so sweet and healthy from the day i picked him up, 5lbs and only $700. just goes to show you dont have to pay more to get more! |

| I have a Japanese Chin with chronic colitis. He also is very nervous. I took him as a favor to a breeder that wanted someone who had previous experience with this breed. He was returned to her and a gift to me. He arrived with Giardia treated with Panacur. We went to many vets. I finally ended up in Philadelphia but live in NJ. about 3 hours round trip. Now we only go every 6 months for a wellness exam. He gets his innoculations at a local vet. He has him on sucralfate, metronizadole (both appropriate for his weight, 5.4-5.9lbs.) every 12 hours. He eats Kellogg's All Bran 13 carbs (on front of box) and diet lean buger, sautee in a teflon pan and drain off, rinse with bottled water. I feed him 3x's a day if your dog is small 4 small portions a day, 50-50 of the bran and beef add a little bottled water. It is a grainy stool but firm since the bran absorbs all. He now gets Wellness Simple Solutions Venizon and Brown Rice kibble as treats or rewards but this is just lately and only a couple at a time. This is after 2 yrs. on this diet. He hasn't had an attack since he was on it, only took 2 days to get rid of all the messy poop. The Philadelphia Police Dept. uses this food formula on their dogs in training that get diarhhea from stress. I used bottled water because our water stinks, full of chemicals. Even the awful vets in my area advise to use bottled water in the tiny ones. You might not have poor quality tap water. Jessica |

| I am very sorry you had to go through this..... makes you want to put up billboards... I have actually seen people put signs on their vehicles about poor breeders.... LOL Most people in our area are so uneducated about these bad breeders.... I was too, until I found YT and learned so much! I wish there were a way to educate everyone about these horrible people!!!!!! Sometimes even when you DO your homework they still get you. I traveled to Texas to get my Tootie and Pittsburg to get my Hope.... I have heard of Carla, but it was after I had my babies.... I have only heard good things on her too! bunnybaker, you should contact Rhonda at Pawticular Pets in Denham, she has 6 yorkies and was just speaking of her groomer the other day when I was there! I groom my own because I am too scared to leave them.. her babies are SO CUTE! and if you havent yet, you should go to her shop, it is the only true puppy boutique in our area and it is GREAT! Welcome to YT!!!!! I am so glad to see a few more people in my area of the world... hehe Maybe we need a meet-up! d

| I am in Baton Rouge ( well, Zachary ) We use Plank Road Kennel in Baker. They use to show some top line westies. Anyway, they always do just what I like and none of my dogs ever act scared to be left with them. Angie |
