| Dallas Vet surgical Center - Grapevine, Texas Hi everyone, I just want to give a 5 star review for this surgical center and particularly Dr. Joanne Franks. On December 28, she did luxating patella surgery on our 3 1/2 pound, 10 month old female yorkie. As you can imagine, we were so nervous about the surgery and the anesthesia. Emma came through with flying colors and we brought her home on December 29. By Monday, January 2, Emma was walking as though nothing ever had been wrong that that leg, not even the slightest limp. Although Dr. Franks prescribed pain meds for 7 days, Emma has not had any pain medication since Sunday Jan. 1 and then it was only as a precaution to be sure that she did not experience pain. If you are in the DFW metroplex and need a great specialist surgeon for your baby, you won't go wrong with Dr. Franks! |

| Been there. They repaired a broken leg and I can't say enough about them. Excellent vets and care!

| We used them late one night on a Sunday when Toby wasn't feeling well. They did an excellent job! I'm glad to know they have a good ortheo team as Toby might be getting LP. Did you require a refferal from your regualr vet for the MPL surgery? Last edited by inky13; 07-10-2012 at 04:23 PM. |

| If you are seeing one of the specialist, yes you will need a referral from your Vet.

| I wish I could tell you we had the same luck as you at this place. We did not, please read my post, accident at vet's office in sick and emergency section. And after this happening this week, I have found several negative reviews on line as well as with the BBB. I am thankful you've had good luck there. But please beware in the future. |

| I had to use them this year as well and I had the BEST experience with Dr. Franks as well! I would continue to recommend them as I had to use their office in Dallas as well and both places saved both my yorkies at two different times! If it were not for Dr. Franks I would not have my Radar today! And anyone that knows me and Radar he's my pride and joy and Dr. Franks and this place saved my beloved Radar! Donna |

| You are very fortunate to have had a good experience here. Dr. Franks seems to have many good reviews and I wish we would've had her and maybe our outcome would be different. I want to be clear it was Grapevine that was responsible for the loss of our dogs leg. We used the Dallas office and had no issues. The Dallas office seems much more organized and everyone there from the front desk on back very experienced. Grapevine has lots of chaos. People need to check online reviews for the grapevine office, yelp and bbb. DVSC is not an accredited BBB business, be sure to click on reviews not resolved complaints because DVSC has not resolved any to date. We have now written a review and posted our phone number and TWO people over the weekend contacted us because they just had negative experiences last week! One lady said they put her and her dog who was very ill in a room and then FORGOT about her and when she went out they were eating their lunch and said oops, we forgot about you. I hope NO ONE ever has to experience the unnecessary loss of their dogs leg due to complete negligence. Once they knew something had happened to the paw (they've thrown our several ideas about what 'might' have happened) they should've never sent her home with us with that paw completely covered. Had we seen the paw we would've sought out treatment elsewhere immed. they didn't even put her on an anti biotic, our reg vet did that immed. because she could've gone septic. Sending her home and telling us to come back in 2 days for a bandage change wasted 48 critical hours where the paw might've been saved. Please people do your research, had I seen the negative reviews I would've never gone there. I know better and should've googled their reviews and I will never forgive myself for not doing that. |

| I wish you would let us know which Doctor it was? There are many of us here who use this facility and think it would be helpful to us, so we know which Doctor not to use.

| Ok I just went and read your Yelp Report, I see it was Dr. Well's that did the surgery. I don't know much aboyut her at all. I wish you would have gotten Dr. Franks, he is a fantastic surgeon.

| She as in Dr. franks is an awesome surgeon! She saved my Radar and I'll forever be in her debt!! I would review the other surgeon and not the whole facility! I had one vet tech that would text me a pic of Radar during the night on his progress! She didn't have to do that! I cried when I got the text with his photo showing me he was breathing on his own! That was a caring tech in Grapevine! They also knew he was a show dog with his wraps in and I asked please don't cut his coat and when two wrappers came out because the rubber bands broke they put the wrappers back in and used industrial rubber bands who else would have gone to that trouble except for caring people? Also they found his pic I have as my avatar and printed it out for his cage! I'm sorry I just can't give a bad review of this place!! |
