Wow this is almost as bad as the puppy scam I went through over seas. The difference was that I paid $3700 and got nothing except e mails from these scam artists. I only wish I had YT at this time because I never would have done what I did. I learned never to buy an animal on the internet unless they lived close enough to my home so I can meet the breeder and see the puppies in person. It was an expensive lesson to be learned.

I know this thread is a few months old, but i think everyones memory needs to be refreshed from time to time. not sure how i missed this one when it was started my $4500. purchase from Michael has turned into twice that amount
Michael did send a portion of the vet cost at UT but NOTHING on the purchase price

just hoping that no one else makes this mistake

The reason you missed it is because this thread has no tags. It will not come up on searches or anything unless someone tags it with keywords (such as the breeder's name, kennel, biewer puppy, etc.). I don't know how to tag and I'm also not part of this situation personally. However, I do know that anyone can tag. I would suggest if you want to protect others that you find out how to tag this thread and do so (and I also recommend tagging your thread as well if you have one).

I hope everything works out in the end...I am GLAD that you shared your story because this will deter others from making the same mistake. This definitely urges me to be more careful in the future when I look for a show/breeding quality girl. Stay strong and keep us posted~!

I wanted to just make an update to the original post. As you all know that these dogs were purchased through Michael. However, the breeder was actually another breeder whom Michael worked closely with.

Michael, the other breeder (Marianne) and I have all come to a satisfactory mutual agreement and funds were refunded to make the pups that were not fit for breeding a "pet" status.

The two pups were rehomed to loving homes of YT members. Both pups were neutered and had baby teeth removed prior to rehoming. I am happy to say that they are now living better lives than me!!! I know because I still keep in touch with them

I would just like to conclude as I am a breeder myself. No matter how hard we try our best to start off with the best and healthiest dogs in our program. Once in a while you will always get one that doesn't turn out. It is unfortunate but that is just how genetics works. We do our best to inform the new families of any defects. But sometimes things do slip by and they don't turn out exactly what we hope them to be. Whether in size, color or other physical contributions. What makes the breeder great is whether they are willing to work with you to make you happy. So I would like thank Michael and Marianne for making things right as they have helped rehomed the two pups that are not fit for breeding.

It says that he has been banned from breeding his dogs in Germany. They did an investigation ... now I understand why he's trying so hard to sell his dogs to USA.

If you search "Michael Ostern Breeder", its the first thing that comes up. Same with "Michael Ostern Germany" or "Michael Ostern Dogs" ... Banned from Breeding.
