| ![]() I am working with a Yorkie rescue in Oklahoma. We took in a male yorkie that was under a year old. He was an owner surrender. After having him neutered, he broke out with a "rash". When I took him to the vet, he was diagnosed with DEMODEX MANGE! I have all of his papers and know the breeders name. We have been treating him for several months now. After having this male for a few months, we recieved notice of another owner surrender of a female. After talking with the owner and viewing the paperwork, it turned out she was the male's littermate and guess what she was being treated for??!! Yep, DEMODEX MANGE! Brother and sister are both with me and being treated for the condition which they will carry the rest of thier lives. Both, however, are doing well now and getting better. Henrietta Mathews in Cache, OK is the breeder. She advertises in the Lawton Constitution newspaper in Lawton, OK. She registers her animals thorugh the American Canine Association. I have notified the ACA. I hope and pray those getting a puppy will do thier research and stay away from her.

| ![]() I agree but there is not much we can do here in Oklahoma. We are working on some legislation to stop puppy mills but she is a backyard breeder and would likely not fall under this legislation. Turning her over to the ACA is about all we can do. I am going to look into filing a complaint with the BBB. Other than that, I am just hoping people will google her and see this!

| ![]() I hope something can be done to stop her from breeding. That is just unfair that she continues. Have you contacted her at all or are you even allowed to do something like that? I hate to think of the condition the dogs she breeds.

| ![]() Bugsmomma- I just came across your post. I just purchased a 1 year old Yorkie and found that Henrietta was the breeder. The reason why I was doing research was it looks like the Yorkie came from a bad line because the coat is thinning, wiry and unhealthy looking. I am working on different diets and hair care products, but was curious what was your to Yorkies Dam and Sire of the two dogs with DEMODEX MANGE? I know this is an old post, but thought I would give it a shot ![]() |
