I believe in doing whatever is right for the buyer...I stand behind my pups 100% and will do whatever I have to do to make it right. The reason I even offer a replacement pup at all is because there may be someone out there that would not be able to afford the medical treatment or for other personal reasons wouldn't WANT to keep the puppy...or if sadly the puppy were to die. Then I would want that option to be there as well. I would never make someone give up a puppy that they didn't want to.
I think you are right and that IS why some breeders put that the only option is to give up the pup and get another...because they know that there is only a slight chance they will ever give it up once they are attached...and that is not right. |
I missed it on the first reading, the font you used on your site is very dyslexic unfriendly. I agree, it is awful how breeders will use the "loop hole" just to avoid having to replace or refund on a pup that is sick. I have chosen to replace the pup and allow the buyer to keep or return the pup that is affected, giving them the healthy pup that they origianally intented to buy and allowing them to keep the pup they love if they want. Thanks to God, I have not had anyone that I placed a pup with have a problem, but I breed very very little. All we can do is continue to educate each other and keep trying to do the right thing by our dogs, their new owners, and ourselves.
