| While it would definitely make things easier to only have males or females in the house, you don't have to do it this way. Most breeders that I know have both as do I. You just have to take special precautions when your girls are in heat as these guys will do just about anything to get to one another. I would definitely have a plan as to how you will separate them before having to do so. We only keep ours separated when they are in heat, otherwise everyone gets to run around together.

| There isn't a file section but the search feature at the top of the screen can probably help you a lot. I hope that's what you were asking.

| I have both. It can get difficult for about 2 weeks every 6 months. If you plan to breed, you can find wonderful info on here and in cyberspace; then decide if it is the right thing to do or not. If you decide not to breed, then spaying and neutering will diminish any future problems. I use doggie diapers (like human infant pampers) while they are in heat. Yorkies should not be left to tie on their own. There are stages to the heat cycle. The female knows the right time and will give signals in advance. I'm only lightly touching on the subject but am adamant about researching before jumping in. Males tend to mark more in the house once bred. Thank God for belly bands . |

| I have my breeding males and females in the same house....the thing that one must be aware of is your female cyles....know when they're coming in....believe me my boys know way before I do......They are seperated and never let in each other's company, unless I'm planning to breed and control it. At this time my girls and boys go out to play in completely seperate yards...they are seperated in seperate rooms....It's tough on the boys...they act completly idiotic, go off food, etc. It's manageable, but hard work.....

| If their spayed and neutered there ok, unless you plan on breeding them. If you do you need to keep them apart until their old enough to breed.

| It's OK to have them in the same house as long as you have the common sense and ability to keep them completely separated when the female is in heat. Now, they will drive you nuts, but that is a different story... |

There is also a "dry heat" where you don't see blood. There shouldn't be a terrible odor when they are in heat. | |
