yes you are the one that said teacup and at your website in the morkie section advertising them as rare coloring, (NOT). You were called on it because everyone knows better than that not including the shameless link you threw in. We know what to look out for. I'm sorry, but we're pretty educated around here. Here is a link by the administration of this site you should look at. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64153 There are alot of newbies that may not know the selling ploys to make money, those buzz words many including you are using. BTW If you're trying to help and not be a person of greed, don't post your website. Sorry Dani23d I'll hush, back on topic. Best wishes to you. |

I think it's fine to put a deposit on the puppy now as long as there is a written receipt or contract stating that you'll get the deposit back if the puppy dies or develops some type of health problem before leaving the breeder. Most breeder will refund the deposit or replace the puppy if something happens to the original one while in their care. Being that much smaller than the rest of the litter though - be prepared that something might happen to him. I know someone who had a litter a year ago - 2 girls and one boy. One of the little girls was so much smaller than the other two and stayed a lot smaller. She never opened her eyes and needed special care and had to be bottle fed in between feedings from the mother. At three weeks she passed away. She was just too small and something was wrong with her. So just be prepared that something can happen and make sure the breeder has a policy to refund your deposit if it does. I hope everything goes well |

very well said!!!! |
hey guys. my main concern is to find a healthy male yorkie. i guess it'll come down to the condition he's living in and if he is socialized. i'll know when i meet the breeder of my choice whether they will be faithful and dependable. i know the definitions of backyard/puppy mill, etc. and i know there is 'no such thing' as a teacup yorkie. size is really not a factor for me. yorkies are small in general. it's not like i'm looking for a sheep dog LOL it's nice to see the committment of everyone and to read your opinions. i am completely unbiased and i thank each and every one of you for your support. no enemy-making, please! i love you all like a family. so back to the subject at hand; ***UPDATE*** the current breeder i am speaking with says she already has two deposits on the other males. therefore, im "stuck" with the xsmall one. all i can say is, im going to keep my faith in the little puppy, keep track of his health, and pray that he is as healthy as the rest of the litter. i don't just want to oust him because he's the runt. all of them should be loved equally. i guess i will have to wait until november to visit him (no one can visit the pups until they get their shots). so for now, keep helping me find other reputable breeders, because a Plan B might come handy if this little guy doesn't turn out as healthy as we all pray he will be. thanks! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97118 |
In my opinion I would not put a deposit on a puppy that was that tiny and that young. I would wait until the puppy has had it's first vet visit so you know whether it is even healthy or not. Also, you dont even know what this puppy is going to look like. It you are paying that kind of money, I would wait until you get a better idea of what the puppy is going to look like, it's health and its temprement to make sure it is the right puppy for you. Dont let the breeder try to make you rush into any decisions. It you dont get that puppy, there are many more to choose from and it wasnt meant to be. I dont think I would trust a breeder that took a deposit on a puppy that weighs not even 2 oz. It is too iffy. Take your time and make the decision that feels right. If there are red flags and you have to ask if you are doing the right thing and you are unsure, then it might not be the right decision after all. |
Deposit on Tiniest of the litter Quote:
