| Puppies ARE COMING.... and oh, am I a nervous wreck....like making myself sick.... Well we've been taking her temp, and it dropped this morning from 100.4 last night, to 97.9 this morning. She is in a corner, breathing heavy, and has a little bit of the shakes. She is staring off, and doesn't want to be bothered. She wants to be left alone right now, we tried taking her to the whelping area, but she didn't want to move, so we are leaving her alone. The Vet confirmed on Monday that their are 4 possibly 5 pups, and they are VERY long. Does anyone forsee that being a problem, the legnth of the pup? please any info would be GREATLY appreciated! I've been reading hours upon hours a day....This is our 2nd litter, first was 18 months ago. Same parents, and Mom had no problems in the last litter. Thanks In Advance! |

| I don't see there being a problem with the length of the pups. Just be there for her and make her comfy. You said you've read alot so you probably know all the signs of stress to look for. My yorkie delivered 4 last week and we had a great whelp (wish they could all be like that...and wishing it for you) Then my maltese delivered 2 last week and we had to run to the ER because she would not progress in labor ( she had been digging and panting for over 8 hours) they gave her an oxy shot and it was over in 30 mins. If you have any problems come to YT and let us know, we will be there for you. Best wishes to you for a smooth and safe whelp!! |

Thank you so much! Yeah, I am kinda relieved there are 4 and would've been more nervous if there were one or two, based on how big the babies could get with all that room. I have about 5 sites, that I read RELIGOUSLY, like every night till about 2 to 3 a.m.. I just feel the more I read, over and over, the more it will be like 2nd nature if I do need to "act fast". She is relaxing a bit more now, but not able to get comfortable, and keeps moving around, and pacing. I am sure it will be today. I will keep you posted, and thanks everyone for the well wishes.
