Nothing to update on, STILL no puppies. My vacation ended and I had to go back to work, but my partner is home with her, and I guess she has not eaten all day and there were visable signs of contractions. Her belly was almost like waves from her chest to her stomach, and she would jump or shiver. I am assuming those are contractions. SOON I HOPE.... we figured it would be 6-12 if it took at the last of her breading so I would hope tomorrow. Her son from her last litter turns 1 year tomorrow. maybe it will be then she has them. Hope to have more to update soon. Thank you everyone for your help. |
We Have Puppies, We Have Puppies, We Have Puppies!!!!!!!!! |
Yippeee!! I couldn't sleep so came on to check & boy was my timing perfect! Please do tell me how many & whatcha have... so excited for you:D :littleang ~**HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUPPIES**~ :wavey: Tina :) |
There are 4 little pups, all are doing well, 3 are 4 1/2 oz and 1 is 3 1/2 oz. We are so proud of Nelly, the previous owner said she never broke the sac on her own, well she did it all on her own with no help from us. YAY!!!!!!! |
Do we need to do anything like let her go outside or is she going to be ok? Sept 11th, the same day she had her litter last year!! |
That's fantastic! 4 babies is a perfect number, and they all sound like healthy sizes too! What a brave Mommy to do it all by herself. You should be so proud of her & yourselves too! Wish I could be there to give great big hugs to all of you for a job well done  ;) I'm just so glad I at least got to be here to share it with you :) Now you should all be hopefuly ready for a nice long well deserved rest... give Mommy Nelly a little peck from me too if you think of it :-) HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU :wavey: Tina |
Oh... yes of course, sorry about that. She will most likely look to you to let her out. She will also need some nutrition after all that work. Chicken noodle soup is a nice lite easily digested meal for her. Or you can mix some canned puppy food with a little water (mushy like cooked oatmeal). Anything else, ask away... I'll wait by the puter for ya ;) |
THANK YOU !!!! We are so very proud of mommy. puppies are all doing well and feeding. We will get some pictures on here soon so you can all see the beautiful puppies!! |
She has no interest in going outside now.. lol...she is just taking care of the pups. im just in awww of how well she did and this entire experience. We had teary eyes this morning. |
Can't wait to see the pics... congratulations again:) I'm off to bed now, so you and all of your precious loved ones have a wonderful night & sleep well ;) |
She'll let you know when she needs to go... no worries. It's 4am here, and I need to get at least some shut eye before work. I'm sure you are going to get bombarded by tons of responses in no time... so good luck & I'll be back on in the morning (couple of hours) to check in and see how you are all doing :D Have a wonderful day enjoying those little sweeties :) |
Congrats on the pups. Make sure mom gets plenty of calcium. There's a rescipe on here for whelping pudding and a cup of warm goats mild does great as well. She may not want to leave her pups at all today. Mine usually get breakfast in bed the first day or so. Sounds like she deserves to get spoiled a bit today. |
Way to go Nellie! I am so proud of you, mama and all the babies. I knew it would be alright. Can't wait to see pictures. You need to have a vet appointment today for mama. They will give her an oxytocin shot to "clean her out". it's important so she doesn't get an infection from left over stuff from the whelping. I always take my girls asap after whelping. it is also a good time for the vet to check the babies out for you. |
Congratulations on the new puppies . |
Ahhh Congrats on your new babies:) cant wait for pics;) |

3 Attachment(s) Here are the pics of the mom & dad, and mom and the pups. We noticed at 4:30 this morning she was in labor, by that time she had 2 and we were able to see the other 2 born. 3 are 4 1/2 oz and the other one is 3 1/2 oz. Mom is doing wonderful. Going to the store to get the stuff to make her whelping pudding. |
:D Congratulations on your new babies! They're beautiful!! |

Congratulations to a job well done!!! What are the sexes? Yolanda |
Congrats! Hope everything continues to go great!!!! |
Congratulations on the new pups. Glad all went well. Hope Moma & babies continue to do well. They are so precious. |
Congrats on the puppy and on mommy doing such a great job. Im so glad every thing went well. I have a question on the chicken noodle soup, Are you talking about reg can of chicken noodle soup? just wondering because we have never used that and wondered if that is to salty for them. |
I do believe thats everyone is refering too, and I thought the same thing. So I myself gave Lilly some gerber chicken in chicken broth baby food. It's all natuaral, and she gobbled it up. It's mainly just to offer them something light & easily digestible since they haven't eaten properly for quite a few hours prior to whelping. Kind of luck us humans, when we've had surgery & can only eat soup & jello for the first meal or two. |

Of course, this is just my opinion and experience--it differs from breeder to breeder and vet to vet. They will be able to advise you on what they feel is the best course of action.:) |
Congrats and thanks for sharing.... |
