| We heard of this news from some of the people at our hotel in ny over the weekend. There were also a few folks at the show discussing how sad and what a great loss it was. I am very sorry to hear of her passing and you are very lucky Debbie to have known her and had such a great mentor. |

| I am so sorry to hear that Jay has passed away. I have had the pleasure of meeting Jay and owning two of her yorkies, both beautiful, well socialized, smart dogs. The first time I met Jay was at her home. I was so surprised & delighted to be greeted by 30+ Yorkie's running to greet me. It was a joyful unforgetable sight. Her commitment to the well being of her dogs was quickly apparent to me. She and I visited several times for hours before she told me which of her dogs was best suited for me. The Yorkie's registered name was One, renamed Tessie. Jay is the only breeder that I have known. Still, I know that she was the standard of excellence. My Yorkie, Russ, was intended to replace his father, Stylish, as Jay's next studd dog, but to my good fortune, he didn't have the right hair. (BTW, does anyone know what it is called when the coat is not silky?) What do I know other than to have loved four Yorkie as pets over a lifetime. I was greatly honored when Jay called to see if I wanted Reliable Source (now Russ) who she affectionately renamed Leak because he wasn't the Reliable Source as she hoped. Silver was his mother. Russ will be six in September this year. I wonder, do any of you have related babies? People ask me about Russ' breeder often. I have told so many people about Jay. I am so truly sorrowful to know that she is gone. I only hope that the breeders that carry on will do so with the same commitment of knowledge and care as Jay had for her precious Yorkies. Thank you Jay. You will always be remembered warmly by me. |
