Is there any possibility that the mother isn't purebred? If not, some recessives could be showing up in your pup.

I do believe I would ask her to accept less money for the pup but I am happy to hear that you plan to provide it a good and loving home

As long as you are happy with your pup's size and disposition, the "look" is a vanity issue. I just hate to see someone take advantage of you by overcharging.

Of course, I am also a bit of a fanatic, I would like to see all mixed breed and most purebred dogs neutered. There are just too many abused and unwanted dogs and cats already.

I actually feel guilty that I purchased my dogs rather than rescuing but then when I tried to rescue a Maltese, I was put on a list, and I wasn't that patient

I have tried to adopt 2 different dogs, and was denied for both because I don't have a fenced yard. They wouldn't even take into consideration taht I was a stay at home mom and my puppy would be an inside dog, and never outside unattended. Sometimes it's ridiculous how strict they are about adoptions. Instead they let the dogs sit in a shelter for 3 years.

Thank You for all of your replies. I didn't take offense to any of them. If I thought he looked standard I wouldn't have asked the question. However, even if he doesn't look just like every other yorkie puppy... doesn't mean he isn't perfect. Because he is, and I love him no matter what. If he doesn't turn out like I think is acceptable I am still going to try and take him if the breeder will accept a lower price. Wish me luck.

Sounds like you love him and that's great. My Roxie has a different look but she is the smartest and strongest yorkie I know. Enjoy your little angel.

On the upclose pic, he is looking down his face isn't really that long.

I could be wrong here so if any breeders or showers are reading please chime in. Some of your pups toenails are white. Yorkies should have all black toenails. THe Yorkie/chi mix that we use to have had white and black toenails. If you love this little guy then by all means take him home. He is a cutie. I would just hate to see you pay such a high price for a mix. Especially if you are told he is a Yorkie.

There is a link you can read. If you read the coat and color it will tell you that the pigment on the nails should be dark.
