gosh. that is horrible. i would not ever do that. contract is a contract. and that is why i will be extra careful with whats in the contract and will abide by it.

Contracts are necessary to make sure everything is spelled out as to what is expected. There are several aspects to look at. What is considered a litter, if the female doesn't take is there to be a repeat breeding. What the stud owner expects, etc.

The funniest thing is the same woman came to me asking for free stud fee with my little boy for her unproven female and it was the female that had 5 pups . You should have seen her face when I told her that I knew all the story concerning her unproven Yorkie . The nerves of some peoples .

Didn't take your question as offending. I really thought it was just a question you wanted an answer on an unproven male.

I forgot to say that a contract is only as good as the 2 people signing it.

so sometimes, if both the dogs have never been bred before, depending on the people, there wouldn't be a stud fee?

Gazou is not for public use too. The only time I used him for another bitch than mine was for his breeder who is my mentor . It was in the sale contract and I had to show him to his championship before using him .

Same here, and if for some reason a good friend or fellow exhibitor/breeder wants my studs it must be cleared with my breeder.

I am wondering I want to use my male for service. This is his first time do you breed them (bitch) at your house or does he go to there house? I do not want any puppies. I have a contract which states I can have one or just use for stud.


Please help me.

P.S. He is proven champship blood lines. I have the paper work. Which state he does not have any defects.

The female is bred in your home. The ideal is to have the female in your home for a few days prior to and through the breeding. Just so that she can settle in and they get use to each other.

Has he ever been used for stud, in other words has he been proven? If he has not your fee should be waived or at least a discount. If the breeding does not result in a litter, your contract should reflect that a repeat breeding is offered at no additional cost.

Proof of championship blood lines is no guarantee of what he will produce.

The norm for an unproven stud is to waive the fee. A reduced stud fee is acceptable. The breeding process is not only to prove your stud and provide yorkies that are a good representation of the breed, but to establish yourself as reputable. There is a great deal of responsiblity as a stud owner too. Make sure that the owner of the female is reputable too, willing to uphold her end of the contract. Oh! and make sure that the female has gone through all the medical tests too. Eyes, ears, heart tested. Knees and hips x-rayed too. Bile acid tested.
