If the babies are healthy, you have no plans to show or breed, and you've been thinking about getting a Yorkie anyway, I say go for it! Use the money you were saving up to spoil your new baby! Keep us posted on what you decide

Go for it! If you don't you will regret it once you start looking. Affordable yorkies are rare enough, getting one for free is a miracle! Windy

Wow Thank you all so much for your reassurance. I wasn't sure, but now I'm going to go for it. The dogs will be ready in early August and they are healthy. Three in all 2f/1m. I will have to pay for dew claws and tails docked but other than that she's free. Thanks everybody for for their advice. Any suggestions on a cute original name for alittle girl? Thanx Ashley

| Take the puppy. If it's a pet who cares if there are papers or not!

I agree with everyone else except for one of the reasons AKC reg. papers are important. They are one way you can research if your baby would develop a difficult-to-diagnose ailment that might be genetic. I have found it helped to give me background info on my own babies aside from the ones with whom I breed. Your friend sounds very generous and is wise to keep an OOPS litter close so she can monitor them. I suspect she will decide to breed again..I am not saying this negatively just stating facts. Mixed breed suposedly "oops" litters between Jack Russell and Yorkie(who also looks like a mixed breed) is listed for $175.00...
