I agree with everyone else except for one of the reasons AKC reg. papers are important. They are one way you can research if your baby would develop a difficult-to-diagnose ailment that might be genetic. I have found it helped to give me background info on my own babies aside from the ones with whom I breed.
Your friend sounds very generous and is wise to keep an OOPS litter close so she can monitor them. I suspect she will decide to breed again..I am not saying this negatively just stating facts.
